My Cruel Summers are limited to strictly Bananarama, and I am not even in my 50s yet.You need to just shake it off. I know it's been a cruel summer for us fans but better days are ahead. Wrestling will be here in a fortnight give or take.
Agreed. I'm 70. I like the song a lot - video's a little goofy, but still.'Cause karma is my boyfriend
Karma is a god
Karma is the breeze in my hair on the weekend
Karma's a relaxing thought
Aren't you envious that for you it's not?
Sweet like honey, karma is a cat
Purring in my lap 'cause it loves me
Flexing like a goddamn acrobat
Me and karma vibe like that
I'm 62, so being 61 isn't that good of an excuse to me.
This is true, but if you've followed the case closely it illustrates a lot of the issues with sexual assault cases From everything I've read it seems as if it would be pretty difficult to convict those guys and put them in jail.Just because the hockey players weren't found guilty, doesn't mean the allegations were false.
Ditto. Glad to know it’s not just me.My tomatoes are all in, but still green.
Now you’re really sayin’ somethin’!My Cruel Summers are limited to strictly Bananarama, and I am not even in my 50s yet.

No sure without doing a deep dive backwards, but I don't think Paul posted he hoped the thread would die. He was helping those who seem to suffer from making themselves read threads they know they are tired of.Lol. And here you go posting.
What a memory pull, I wrestled a dual meet @ Steel Valley in HS . . . can confirm the wrestling team runs out to thisWe Ain't Steel Valley HS, Munhall, PA (ffs)
Reminds me of an away match in HS in the mid-70s (maybe Yough?). They came out to “Love Rollercoaster.” We thought it was hilarious . . . till they shut us out. Granted, it was only our school’s second year in the sport, still embarrassing enough to recall 50 years laterPSU wrestling should play Ozzies Iroman when the team comes out!
In certain cases, it will come down to the preponderance of evidence, one way or another. For example, there’s not enough to convict a guy. However, if evidence comes out and shows that the person deliberately fabricated a lie for some kind of personal vendetta or gain, then they should be punished as harshly as the accused would be punished if they were found guilty.I find it interesting that you bring this up and once shared your exact view. The problem is complex because a jury is weighing guilt and a reasonable doubt in our current system where they wouldn't need the same burden of proof in your proposed model. If you thought it was 55-45 one way or the other you would be sending a party to harsh punishment. There would be a ton of people in prison based on one simple matter of circumstantial evidence.
Exactly. Both my wife and I were falsely accused of abuse, her to her daughter once by a neighbor with a vendetta. And myself. They were both very easy to debunk. There was literally no evidence just false anonymous claims, but it was still quite aggravating. You really, really need to be on the receiving end of a false accusation. It will be an enlightening experience.
In the meantime, let those of us who've been to the event horizon of Katherine McKinnon's misandrist black hole assure you it's a place where everything is distorted.
If you need it, I have just the accuser: there's a former Pitt cheerleader out there-one of these formerly young women:
First Team of Cheerleaders | Documenting Pitt
who managed to turn herself into a reasonable stand-in for Margaret Hamilton after a couple of decades of bile, lunacy and nicotine.
If you were to counsel her that brandishing a banana like a gun complete with semi-automatic and automatic fire sound effects is inappropriate-she'll file a 9-page handwritten list of hallucinations such as "mounting" her in the office done with such rage the pressure of her pen embossed the paper.
When the investigation is over and found to have no supporting evidence-no consequences for the accuser-in actuality, her employment is more secure (which was the intent). because any discipline is subject to the HR Karens eagerly supposing the discipline as revenge.
If somebody reports any other type of offense to the authorities-say I accuse my neighbor of burying his murder victims, beating his lids or his dogs-and the police dig up his yard and find no bodies, there's no record of any sort of injury to perfectly healthy kids or the dog-then the below part of the PA Code applies, along with the potential for civil litigation.
This is my "tell" that Pyscho Syd is likely running a huge scam. She didn't go to the police, nor did any of the other parties.
Section 4906.0 - Title 18 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES
And she's also likely a:
It’s kind of how our legal system works, beyond the shadow of a doubt. Now, maybe they should try a civil suit? A civil suit is more the preponderance of the evidence than 100%.Just because the hockey players weren't found guilty, doesn't mean the allegations were false.
Now talk about that football player that was jailed over a false accusation? Talk about Trev Bauer? False accusations are the norm, they are not rare.Strongly disagree. That would make every victim scared to ever report something again if they think there's a risk of jail time (and a lengthy one) for not being able to prove assault.
There's one case of it ever that I would have supported it, Brian Banks. When the accuser/liar outright admitted on the record (to a wire) she lied for money. That's malicious and there was a confession and someone actually served jail time for it.
Even cases where it's clear one party embellished (Shawn Oakman, Matt Araiza) I still err against it since it's he said, she said and the facts significantly favor one party but it's not an absolute.
Exact! What year and what HS? I went to West Mifflin North back in the day. What a memory pull, I wrestled a dual meet @ Steel Valley in HS . . . can confirm the wrestling team runs out to this
I never said the thread had to die. I agree with letting peole post what they want. I read all, though some are a very cursory scan.Lol. And here you go posting.

I think we might be seeing that exact scenario playing out right now.In certain cases, it will come down to the preponderance of evidence, one way or another. For example, there’s not enough to convict a guy. However, if evidence comes out and shows that the person deliberately fabricated a lie for some kind of personal vendetta or gain, then they should be punished as harshly as the accused would be punished if they were found guilty.
While Upper Oakmont is definitely the country club scene; I grew up (and my folks still live) in Verona - much different vibe. DeAugustino, right?I see, an up river country club boy.
WM North and South schools had merged by 2000.
I kept score at the holiday tournament in the late 70s. The tournament is now named after my ex Coach and Phys Ed teacher. I stopped by it a few years ago.
Yes, DeAugustino (the younger), Steve (Mr. to me), not Gus.While Upper Oakmont is definitely the country club scene; I grew up (and my folks still live) in Verona - much different vibe. DeAugustino, right?

I wonder what would cause a person to create false allegations out of the blue like that. I guess some people just have a total lack of conscious.Exactly. Both my wife and I were falsely accused of abuse, her to her daughter once by a neighbor with a vendetta. And myself. They were both very easy to debunk. There was literally no evidence just false anonymous claims, but it was still quite aggravating.
Now imagine you have to spend a lot of time and money on a legal site to fight this accusation?
I think we all know a little too much about false accusations. They just about ruined the University and football programs' reputation. Now talk about that football player that was jailed over a false accusation? Talk about Trev Bauer? False accusations are the norm, they are not rare.
Reasons off thr top of my head.I wonder what would cause a person to create false allegations out of the blue like that. I guess some people just have a total lack of conscious.

Just remember that we’d have to shut it down when it gets close to overtaking the Grothus thread…I say let's keep this thread alive as long as possible. It is shaping up to be a big "FU" to all the haters out there who were ready to pounce on Cael's grave.
It should be kept alive on all of the wrestling boards.
