To EKU?? How about da Cats ?????
This is something that has always bothered me. Coaches and schools should not be able to block where a kid goes. I think this is an SEC rule that needs to be discardedDon't know if you are serious or not. But Bama won't release him to another SEC school. He would have to sit 2 years, but a way around that would be go JUCO for a year, graduate and go anywhere he wants with 3 years to play 2. Its what Alvin Kamara did who is now at UT.

You don't understand completely how the release process works. A player can transfer anywhere they choose and sit out a single season. The "release" only affects their ability to get financial aid. A kid with a full release can get aid immediately while if release is blocked then kid has to pay his way at the school of his choice for the first year.
Either way - just one missed season.
Ahhhhh, the Harris family staying classy...
Never understood why a coach would block a guy from leaving. Why would you want somebody around who didn't want to be there?
Its not so much leaving as it is going to your biggest rival, or conference member. Would UK fans want Boom at Louisville or at another SEC east school? Now don't jump the gun I am not saying he is looking, just an example of one of your best players.

Love to have heard Saban's reaction.Ahhhhh, the Harris family staying classy...
Yes Arc I completely understand the transfer process. Tray Matthews was no longer a part of UGA's football program when he transferred to AU, so he was transferring as a student at UGA, not an athlete at the time, athletic department had no say with him, yet Trigger Tray had to pay his own way that first year because he was a transfer into AU and not eligible for athletics. So it appears you are the one who doesn't understand how transfers and financial aide work.
Once again I will ask you to stop following me and attempting to correct everything I post when you in actuality don't have a clue, just a stalker.
It doesn't matter - any kid can transfer and sit out one season. If they are "released" then they can immediately go on scholarship while sitting out. That's why the whole thing with Kirby Smart and Turman was so silly - he could've gone to UF or Miami or anywhere and just paid his way for a year and only missed a season. Folks acted like he was barred from going where he wanted but not really.
I only correct you about once a month - youll be okay. I figured you'd be glad to pick up some knowledge. If you are going to post like an expert it's not good to be wrong so much.

I never understand how these rules work. I hate them either way. It's bad for the kid no matter what. They need to change the rules. Maybe something like give all athletes one free transfer and after that they need to sit a year if they transfer again. We don't want player transfers becoming like NFL free agency but the punishment right now is a bit unfair. You don't understand completely how the release process works. I kind of agree with Hinshaw's statement but definitely think it was better left unsaid.
But the the really stupid statement was this one by their biased reporter:
"Alabama football happens to be the right decision (side note: it is ALWAYS the right decision)"
Dumb statement, and probably over a 50% chance it is the wrong decision for BOTH Harris and Jones IMO. Goode was a four star that committed to UK back when 5.6 Little was by far our best RB commit, I think ALL of our other RBs were two stars, Locke was a 5.2. Goode switched to Bama after prep school IIRC and while playing behind a Heisman winner for four years might not have been too bad when they brought in their five star wonder boy the next year he definitely didn't have a chance, he transferred down a division for his senior year. In all probability he would have been a hero at UK and might have played himself into a nice NFL career. I doubt if many Bama fans even remember him.
Jones is going to have a player that played rings around him at the Elite 22 (did he even make the Elite 11?) in his class, with more great QB prospects coming in every year even if he beats him out, and Harris already has a beast in his class in Scarborough with not just the #1 RB prospect in the nation currently committed but he is also the #1 commit in the whole class at any position.
Didn't they recently get a running back committment that suppose to be better than Harris?
Guess this guy that is #1 in the class is the one I was referring to. Sure next year they will have another similar one at that position.
