--Holgorsen was asked about his team holding Kansas State to 16 points in a league where defenses are challenged every week and he said that it has been an emphasis over the past several years. It helps that the game only had 11 possessions but he was pleased with the defensive effort.

--Speaking of defense, Holgorsen said that the fact the cornerbacks Rasul Douglas and Elijah Battle held up in coverage is a major reason for the success that the Mountaineers had stopping the Kansas State run game and holding them to 2.9 per carry. West Virginia blitzed time and time again and the purpose of that was to disrupt the run game, but they wouldn't have been able to do that if the Wildcats wide receivers had gotten behind the cornerbacks.

--Holgorsen said he brought it up to his team that for two straight weeks his team has lost many of the major statistical categories but has found a way to win. He is proud of the fact they fought for the victory but the message is that they have to start winning those categories moving forward.

--Sophomore wide receiver Jovon Durante played his best game against Kansas State. Playing inside wide receiver he was able to catch the ball in traffic and make plays underneath and Holgorsen only expects him to continue to improve moving forward.

--Holgorsen was asked about the back up quarterbacks and he said that he contiues to get them reps and get keep engaged and remind them that they are only one play away from getting into the game. The Missouri game showed them that and they've both been much better.

I've watched some of two Texas Tech games and I don't think we'll have to worry too much about the run game. The corners will get a heavy workout though. They'll need to be sharp for the Red Raiders. Good thing we have an off week.
