Charlie Hunnam isn't a bad actor. I know people hate his American accent(which is the root of his hate), but in Bond he can use his normal British accent. I like Hardy a lot. Idris Elba is perfect for the role but too old

For better or worse... I think it’ll be Henry Cavill. He’s got the chops IMO and is only what, 37ish? Right about the same age when Craig took over.
Cavill is 38 and would be like 41 by the time the next movie comes out. But Brosnan was 42, Dalton 41, Moore 46 at their first movies.
Never liked Craig as Bond.

I really like Craig as Bond, but I understand that it is a bit of a departure from the literary character. Craig's Bond is darker, more serious, more physical.
Can't beat Connery though.
Idris is perfect. 10 years is fine because most successful actors don't keep the role for long because it restricts other roles.
I think Idris would be good as well.....but my gut tells me that he's be more in the Craig mold. More serious, dark, not incredibly talkative, physical, etc.
Has Idris been in any movie that's more light hearted and funny? Something that shows that he can be of a smart aleck, sarcastic type?
On a side note, the latest movies have gone away from the gadgets. Q just doesn't have the same impact he once did. I know that in the past, the gadgets could get a little too hokey at times but I always thought that it was one of the more defining characteristics of a Bond film.

Personal preference but I like the grittier bond via the Daniel Craig interpretation

If so, that would have been horrible. Dude seemed to fall off a cliff not to long after showing him the money. He made it into his early 30's before the good movie roles mostly dried up. Hey, I forgot about The Losers. I liked that one.....and it certainly was a comedy in parts.......but you're right, I don't think he was super different than his other roles.

I really liked The Losers. Definitely not a comedy but it had that light hearted humor (mixed in with gratuitous violence) that was mentioned previously.
Although I like the idea of guys like Idris, Cavill, or Fassbender more......here are some guys that I think could play the literary character.
He'll be 50+ by the time the next movie is out. I'd have loved him if Craig had actually quit after Skyfall, but they need someone younger unless they want someone for only 1 or 2 movies.
Yeah when Craig started you have the combo of Austin Powers having spoofed the f out of Bond, and the super popular and successful Bourne franchise. Camp was out, gritty was in. I think you'll see more balance between the two with the next Bond.
Cavill certainly has the look. I think he could pull off Bond.
I hope so. The crazy villain schemes, the gadgets (including the cars), and a certain Bond character approach has been the constant throughout all of them. If all you have is a kick-*** spy saving the world, then it's not separate from the Bourne's of cinema.
Yeah, the new Bond has worked well when it's been personal (Casino Royale, Skyfall) and has been utterly forgettable and mediocre otherwise (I've watched Spectre twice and can't remember **** about what happens).
It'll also be interesting to see how they deal with certain hot topics in the future. The main one that comes to mind is the objectifying of women. Bond girls like ***** Galore, Honey Rider, Goodnight...... Obviously they've tried to make the Bond girls more bad a$$ like Halle Berry's Jinx and Michelle Yeoh's Wai Lin, but still.......can some of the old quips and writing endure in this modern time?
I can't remember which movie, but one of the Connery movies he pretty much rapes somebody.
Buzzfeed showed some old Bond movies to a bunch of teenagers and none of the teens liked them. Mainly because of Bonds treatment of women.
Connery is my all time favorite Bond, he was the best. I think Craig has done a heck of job in the role.

Would not be surprised at all if the next Bond is a relatively unknown actor. Look at the track record of best known Bonds so far. Connery was an unknown before Bond. Roger Moore was known for his TV series “The Saint”, but that’s about it. Pierce Brosnan was known for his TV series “Remington Steele”. Craig was an unknown.

Agreed. For me Craig got to angry and too personal with all hits he was to make. Bond is supposed to remain unattached and cool for the most part.

For all of the Bonds I think most like Connery the best and I agree but, my second choice is Timothy Dalton. I wish he had done a couple more.
