No doubt the reason he doesn't have a lot of offers is that he was a home state guy committed to Ohio State. After all, if you were Virginia, would you waste your time. Only UK believed. And look what the tooth fairy brought us.
Always important to get a QB in every class, and having Johnson, Barker, Hoak, and Clark for next season not only means we have options for 2017, but can allow other guys to be brought along and ready when their time comes.
Clark has every physical tool. He just needs mechanics and consistency, and I feel like we have an outstanding group of offensive and QB coaches in place to give him those, plus the time to let him learn them.

Who else didn't have the QB they wanted for 2017 that could compete with UK for him? Plus I think he could have made his intentions known to other suitors pretty quickly after the decommit. JMO.
Hopefully Barker returns to football-playing health. I'm not sure. And I don't write off Wood.
Let's all chip in to help him get that OSU tattoo removed! Seriously I wouldn't ask him to do that but it would be really cool if he were to get a UK tattoo to go with it.

Solid pickup. I'm curious why Ohio State recruited and took a commitment from a 3* QB originally. He looks like a good one, but I thought Urban only recruited 4s and 5s at QB.
Easy. Early commit to OSU scared people off and others went elsewhere. Then Jones decommits from UK afterwards, that opened a slot for Clark. Probably wouldn't have taken Clark had Jones stayed committed. Regardless, it's a nice pick up for UK.

Three QB commits in a short class is a bit much.
Personally I don't think UK will ever have the OL to allow a pro-style QB to flourish in the SEC. Really liked the idea of going towards a dual threat.
We play in the SEC East, lest stop pretending we play A&M's schedule.

The dual threat helps, but our offensive line is more than serviceable enough to give a pro-style quarterback plenty of time to get the ball off. However, he has to be quick to make decisions and he has to be accurate. You also have to put the quarterback in the right system to be successful. Dawson's home run type offense was not the right style for a guy like Towles. Barker looked to be in a great rhythm early in the first game of the season. I think he took a hit and his back injury and his inexperience got in his head and it was all all downhill from there.

Will he come if Stoops is not fired like some of you want and wither on the vine like Elam because of lack of coaching development?
He was given a verbal offer back in the day. Question is, did he get a written offer after Aug. 1 when they're permitted - which really says a school wants you. Haven't seen anything that says they did.
One thing I really like about him from the word go is that he's a lefty. Heard Steve Young on CBS sports radio talking about how being left handed makes things look really different for defenders in coverage and how it can be an adavantage.
