Oh the humanity. It looks like the wheels are spinning off.

I'm surprised walk-ons hit the portal because they currently don't have scholarships.
He is D2 or D3 to get playing time, if that's even a possibility. No way he gets playing time at any D1 school. He was a below average HS basketball player in Ohio...he literally averaged 2.5ppg his senior year of HS.
I thought he was like one of King Charles' kids. Prince Grant of Darbyshire. Hard to take a guy seriously as a "dog" with that last name. It says, "I'm soft---pass me the gray Poupon."
My initial reaction when I saw this topic was, "oh ****---who is that?"
So was he the walk on that earned a scholly or was he a scholly from the beginning
No reason to clown on the kid. He got to experience Kentucky as a walk on and probably wants to finish his career getting more playing time on a lower-tier team.

He was the lead charge - taker/free throw shooter retriever on the scout team. Word is he felt disrespected that Pope was recruiting over him and decided to cut bait. I don’t blame him.
This. The walk-on era is dead with the new 5 scholarship or you do t get conference profit sharing rule. . If they aren’t a scholarship player than it’s either…go find a school that will give you a scholarship or be a regular student. He likely wants to transfer and play somewhere is final season.

The new rules pretty much does away with walkons unless you choose that route. It’s a roster limit of 15 with all on scholarship. Football is a hard roster limit of 105 with all on scholarship. Some schools had upwards of 120-130 on their rosters but only 85 on scholarship.
The portal "closing" is only for entering. A player can sign any time prior to the fall semester beginning.
You’re partially correct. The roast limit is 15, but that can include walk-ons as part of the 15. Football is the same thing.
The 15 is a roster limit. It can be scholarship or walk-on, but the max is 15 and it has nothing to do with conference profit sharing. UK can have 12 players or they can have 15 players with walk-ons included in that.
And he’s not going to play anywhere. I might have been better than him my senior year and I didn’t even play.

Think I read earlier his parents are quite generous w/r/t our NIL pool. I suspect if him leaving would hurt us in that way, then he wouldn’t be leaving…..
