Well, we could use a SG. Just sayin
Yup and I wonder if this is related to Acaden Lewis? He originally had UCONN on his list? This dude also has UT in his list, wonder if they reached out again and offered a deal? Maybe they won’t be getting Rice like they thought.

Freshman really might need to go to some lesser programs or more desperate p5 schools (or schools willing to pay 4 or 5 mil like BYU and Duke). If I'm a college basketball program and I have $1 mil for a recruit, id much rather have the proven Junior transfer over the unknown freshman recruit, even if that freshman has a higher ceiling. You likely won't get completely burned by that Junior, but the freshman could be a total busy in his first year. And its not like you can keep them for a few years anymore.

If I'm Pope, I'm only recruiting top10.. everyone else I'm hitting the portal for. Let the I coming freshman class go elsewhere for a year and then we can pluck them when they prove something.

I think we will see that more and more players wait to decide as entire rosters are turning over. How can you make a decision on playing for a team when that isn’t going to be the team next season.

They are going to have to start regulating it in a tighter fashion as it isn’t just the incoming players. The existing players then have to decide if they like the incoming class if they haven’t already thrown their name out there…

Yes, only fight for Top 10, do not care about any 10-30 range kids unless they are ky kids...

10-30 range usually are not good enough to be college star in year 1 but are very delusional and demanding

Don’t want him. These freshman that want to leave without guaranteed minutes are stuck in 2018. Get out of la la land kid. If you want to play on a good team, you have to earn your role…period. I can’t stand Hurley but I hope he made it clear to the kid.
Expect these 10-30(maybe 50) ranked kids will all go to less p5 school or even mid-major in the future...

Because many of these kids can only play rotational minutes in top 20 programs, but they want unlimited minutes, which is insane and illusional

I agree. The babysitting days are over.

This was going to happen the second they got Malachi Smith from Dayton to transfer to play the backup PG role to Demary who they took from Georgia. Adams kept talking as if he was going to play backup PG-and there was no way in Hell that was happening anywhere, let alone a program like UConn.

They return Solomon Ball, are bringing in Braylon Mullins and signed an Aussie in the Fall as well who is a wing named Furphy.

Adams to Michigan State would make sense seeing the crap show that roster has turned into with loss of Hollomon, Richardson, and graduation of Akins. They took a player who is very old yesterday to pair up with Fears and have Jordan Scott and Cam Ward coming in but Adams could play and Izzo has good ties to LaLamuiere.

Good lord could you imagine being a college coach right now? What an absolute disaster the environment is right now. Also has a top HS recruit (outside of like a top 3 guy) ever been less important than now?
At this point if he signed I would tell him no, we aren’t releasing you. You can ride the pine all season and transfer next year.

Before anyone says anything — no, I wouldn’t give a single **** if it hurts recruiting because I wouldn’t want players who sign and then try to leave without even playing. Losing players like that would be a huge win in the long term by saving my time from being wasted.

Speaking of a Dukie, I would rather have Sheldon Henderson. He actually listed UK along with a couple others. Betting favorite is to follow Jai to Miami, but if was so open and shut, why even bother listing schools ? It will be a quick recruitment, maybe as early as today, Monday at the LATEST.

Because you don’t get more money by showing interest in only one school.

The coach didn’t have to take Demary and Smith. Just like Pope didn’t have to take Lowe. If the coaches want to improve the roster beyond a top 30 freshman, then the top 30 freshman is surely allowed to look elsewhere too

Commitment to a school should mean something. If the player is good enough to win the starting job, why they run off when competition enters stage left?

The coach should only sign 5 players. How, as a player, can you be expected to honor your commitment if you’re not the only player at your position on the team?
