I don't want to go all "DeanofSelection" here, but there are some big games with Darkside implications in Week 2.
Montini v. ESL.....winner is firmly in
Loyola v. MS....MS could knock out the Ramblers with a win
JC v. WN....WN could knock out the Hilltoppers with a win
H-F v. Stevenson....IMO, Stevenson is ranked too high. We shall see this weekend
Naperville Central v. Neq Valley....a win by NC is expected, but.....
I like Phillips....they might be ranked too high, though....an impressive win against CoM could change opinions. A win in Week 3 against Simeon would strongly make their case, though.
Wins by GBW, OPRF and HC could mean three teams from the West Suburban Silver in the first DSR

Stevenson definitely too high. If they give HF a good game though -lose by 7-10 I would have them in. Just don't see that happening. PC was ranked too high as well losing QB TE Megatron and one of best Defensive players not playing. Winner of Montini-EStL is pretty high in DSR. Oak Park is in for me after beating LWE as well. Not sure where yet. Rice probly in assuming they spank Crete. Top 2 probly HF GW-I would think they beat HS 28-7 or something but things will unfold this weekend.

* note I rank an EStL as they are playing Simeon, Montini so teams I have a point of reference on. I cant rank a SHG until they play a Chicago area team in 6A.
Which is why I don't vote in the Dark Side Rankings or in the Beat Edgy weekly challenge anymore. I'm taking a page from George Carlin regarding voting and complaining. George said the following (all you have to do is take a little license and substitute schools for the politicians):
"I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.”
Therefore, I am looking forward to NOT voting in the Dark Side and to complaining all I want.
