Complete total baseless speculation on this, but with Frost going to UCF, does Darlington think about going home (if he sees no chance to move up the depth chart)?

From what I remember from his high school film from his Jr year, he seemed to have the skill set to run an Oregon type offense. Of course I have no idea about the current state of UCF's roster, and I haven't watched one of their games since Bortles left.

  1. What connection does Darlington have to Frost?
None that I know of. Just thinking since UCF is so close to home for him, and the type of offense. Was UCF still pro style after Bortles left?

I was wondering what his future holds at NU anyway. I am thinking him and or Bush would seem like logical players to maybe leave the program. I am projecting or guessing that about 5-7 guys leave total. I wish Darlington would get some time to play in our bowl game, can't hurt anything.

Was talking to a friend last night about ZD. Why did he look so smooth on his one drive in the spring game? Was it because he was going against the #2 defense? I thought I remember him going against the #1 defense but I could be mistaken. And I take it his arm strength is not as good as Bush and Fyfe? I still don't see him throwing more picks than all three ahead of him. He's actually got a good football IQ from what I remember. Too bad we couldn't ever get a 30+ point lead on a team this season to see him get more than a few snaps.

The school would be in for a PR nightmare if he got concussed again and was seriously hurt. His med history would make that situation a tough deal to handle when outsiders started looking in and asking questions (should that situation arise). I agree he looked great in the spring game but who knows how that would play out vs other opponents. Him in a running style offense isn't probably ideal either (here or elsewhere). There very well could be a gentlemen's agreement in place between him & the coaches/AD Dept. Something like: Go to school, enjoy your free ride, be a great teammate, stay out of trouble, graduate in 4, talk good about the school/coaches, and we all win.

This makes perfect sense. Darlington is transferring to UCF because Jacob Eason is going to commit to Nebraska. We'll probably take Terry Wilson too -- just because.

Kind of off thread topic, but I just don't see it with Bush. I kind of wish he'd go.

I don't recall him wearing a green jersey in the spring game though?

That all sounds good but we seriously need some real depth at quarterback.

Good for Terry, he should stick. One switch is understandable. Respect. Now it will also be more interesting as it would be ultra interesting to watch him play against NU in the coming years. TW vs. P.O.B. be fun to discuss. I hope he wins the starting job only to lose the game. Cool I can see it now........Game time approaches with both QB's having promising career starts with the anticipation leading up to the game. reading the threads about how if TW would have come to Lincoln he would start over P.O.B and all of the ridiculousness that will be getting spewed. Will be fun.

Darlington will never play D1 football. No program will take that risk. If he was a serious option to play without injury, he wouldve played above Fyfe vs Purdue. AJ Bush should consider a transfer to KState. He is ideal for Bill Snyder's scheme. So is Tommy actually. Neither is a good fit for Mike Riley's offense.

Didn't Darlington play in the spring game without a green jersey? Why would they risk that and not in a real game?

As I suspected. The reviews I've heard (not many) from practice all raved about Darlington but yet he didn't play.

Playing in the spring game against your own team that knows your concussion history is WAY different than playing a team that's trying to knock you out of the game.

He played against 4th and 5th stringers. He never faced a blitz, and despite his efforts to scramble, they never intended for him to take a hit.
