Imagine if he was in Lincoln, this guy can be a difference maker and start right away.
Here's his commitment video in style:

This was a joke by him thinking he's so damned cool. " oh I'm a silent commit to OSU and then I'm a silent commit to USC and now I commit to UCLA. " Kid is talented as hell on the field but an ego maniac off the field. Good luck playing for a team that values football as much as we do surfing.

He's a special talent but I can't wait till Raridon is blocking down field in the Rose Bowl and pancakes Holmes which springs Bryant or Bradley for a game winning TD.

This would imply that Nebraska is going to play in the rose bowl over the next 4 years. I think you are delusional and clearly have no idea what you are talking about

Lighten up guys, kids are different now. Kids now days like to show off. He's one of the nations top recruits close to Hollywood and he's just having fun. Think of it as a business, he's trying to brand himself. College football is dirty as it is. They make a lot of money.

We know all that, and while he's free to do that stuff, the world is also free to tell him he looks like an idiot. He looked like an idiot.

I cannot stand that video and IMO it speaks very poorly of him.
I said in another thread that if I were a coach I would tell any kid who announces his commitment with a flashy video and 27 hats in front of him to take a hike. I don't buy into the ******** that kids are different today and this is normal, so we need to chill and get with it, or be left behind with the other dinosaurs.

I wish we had a commit who was a five star recruit. But I will take a kid who is a high 3 star and has a mature attitude and a strong work ethic, over an egomaniacal five star any day.

I am glad we did not get Holmes. He and UCLA are a perfect match.

Edit: Yes, I am an old and grouchy curmudgeon.
Get off my lawn!

the big question is is this the real HTO?? -- I actually like what he posted but was on a fact finding mission with my reply .... I poked the bear a little to see what response I would get

it has now been several hours without any vitriol directed back at me leaving me skeptical as to the true identity of this "H.T.O."

really hope Tim is back but at present I'm not sure

I continue to receive errors when replying to any post so that's why I didn't respond yesterday. Here's proof....
  • @4.6.3 gave me **** when our seats @ KU were 25k feet in the air
  • @sparky62 loves Taco Bell, ask @kaz36
  • @planored @bigboxes and I met in Dallas years ago at a sports bar
  • @c2o had a sig pic that I suggested to him
  • @Archie Graham sent me a text asking if I was GBR something or another
  • @Truehuskerfan showed up at a baseball tailgate years ago with many others from the baseball board
I'm not sure how else to prove this, but ask away.

Don't forget the Beav and Jim Rome comment. That was a clincher for me.
I also recall most of the above interactions. Tis HTO returned!

If this really is HTO then welcome back! I know I am not your favorite poster, but I don't care. Those kinds of things don't bother me. The board is better when you are here.

You're not, but I did meet you & your sister a few years back at sparky's tailgate. Okay, now enough of if it's me or not and more NU talk. :)

Yep. You are definitely HTO. I remember you made chili that I loved because it was good for people with GERD, like me.
As for football talk... since you have been gone, perhaps (and it is merely a suggestion) you could bring the board up to speed on your thoughts on the current state of the program.

+1. Especially position coaches, recruiting, what you heard about buy-in, etc

Some bitter Bettys in this thread.

Ha. I am honestly hating on the video because it's corny AF (as I stated above). If we had landed him I wouldn't have mocked it in public but I would have laughed at it in private. Now I don't have to hide my laughing nor be embarrassed that a future husker made this. Because I know one of my non-husker buddies would have found this video and mocked me for it.

The sad thing is, DH actually put time and $ into this walked away looking like he tried way too hard. Nothing worse than someone who tries to look cool and comes across as a total dipsh*t. I know he's just a kid but if I were Gebbia or KJJ I'd be making fun of him for this forever. Who ever made this film for him has a future in waffle house employee safety training videos that's for sure.

And thank god DH can ball, cause otherwise he'd be a super dork. Being a 5-star football player will hide that from people.

And again, I get these videos. Some are really good. The Michigan O-lineman who did the walking dead parody was great and didn't cost nearly the time or $ DH's did.

To me, its a kid screaming for attention, at UCLA he'll probably get it, that's a place that screams for attention, mostly for the wrong reasons!

I hear ya pennsyhusker, I'm an old fart as well and I was a coach in the 70's. If Mr. Hollywood would have pulled something like that back then there would have been more said then just "take a hike". But unfortunately times have changed to the point where many young people have fallen completely in love with themselves & now have to show it on social media. Courtesy, dignity, consideration, accountability, character, honor & common decency have taken a back seat to greed, selfishness & the death of respect. And it's not just the young but a growing sign of the times in which we live. Damn shame.
