Having Jax hold 133 and even 57kg for two more years would be a horrible idea. If there is one thing that could derail his career it’s cutting way too much weight and getting hurt. Taylor of all people knows this. Maybe he goes 133 one more year then moves up in 2027 but I still think him going up next year is the most likely scenario.

He's not cutting that much is the thing. He'd have to put in a good bit of work to get big enough for 141. Especially for Olympic year 65kg. Right now, he's the same size as every other Olympian at 57kg.

He's on the BIG size of 57 kg and is plenty big enough for 141.
I would be surprised if he's not at 65 kg in 2028.

Him at 57kg may look more hilarious than Evan Wick compared to competition. Some tall lenky guys never fill out.

If you can’t take the guy down, how are you better? Vega went his entire TRUE freshman season without giving up a single takedown. His leg attack defense is the absolute best I have ever seen at the DI level and he isn’t prone to snaps or elbow passes either, which most guys would be with his body type and stance.

I am a big fan of Stanich, but Vega has completely won me over. Mendez had an incredible year and didn’t even come close. Up at 149, he may lose a bit of his length advantage and guys may be able to muscle through and collect the hips faster, but I won’t be even considering that possibility until I actually see someone do it…

Oh, and this isn’t even like Ferrari. Vega very often SCORES when someone gets to his legs. In fact, against high level opponents, it is actually some of his best offense!

Bigger Raney isn't beating Vega or Robideau.

Smaller Raney isn't beating Jax, but he should be in the lineup at either 33 or 41, whatever Jax doesn't go next year.
Going to be interesting if Jax, Vega and Robideau decide to stay put next year. They have certainly earned first choice at which weight they want.

Well if he goes up we'll never know. Stanich is your 141 winner next year.
