Dave Sims

[Loyal_2RU]

That is all.

It's been a long time since I've seen him do a Rutgers game.

Oh man. I saw the title of your post and was bracing for the bad news.

[PiscatawayMike]

Great guy!

[RUsojo]

Guys in the booth have been very good today very spot on

[rutgers93]

He is great!! Loves Rutgers

[RU_PAYBACK]

Dave is feeling it!

[RUtrumpet92_rivals498139]

I felt Sims was hyping Izzo and the Spartans a lot early, but he had reacted to our great play with much praise.

[RutgersLifeR]

Yes! Same thoughts the whole game. I really enjoyed him calling our game!

[read option]

I love the tenured announcers who get the RAC. Sims, Raf, etc.

[RU Husky]

Viewing the games from the west coast. Didn’t realize he was still in the business.

[Mikemarc]

Sims is in Seattle most of the year as Tv voice of the Mariners

[PiscatawayMike]

Voted by many as the best call of a hit in MLB last season...

That's cool. I had no idea. Explains why we don't see him do much any more.

[anon_xekqhstck0ygt]

I must have been watching a different game.

[HPNJRUfan]

Enjoyed listening to him announce on TV today - felt like a throwback to a 2004 Big East game.

[BigEastPhil]

I spoke to Sims after the game. Such a classy / nice guy!

We chatted about the Mariners - who he broadcasts for.

He’s 68 and looks terrific!

[DHajekRC84]

I thought that was him. The other guy was pissing me off but agree they came around and got won over.

[bitnez]

I believe the other guy is Donnie Marshall and he’s a huge Pike fan. I thought the broadcast was great.

[runrutgersrun]

Great voice....Sims was always RU friendly. And...co-star of the short-lived Coleman and the Soul Man radio show! Always a classy guy.

If we somehow got this guy to do Rutgers radio games, I wouldn’t need a TV to watch. Just a special talent.

Yeah, Sims is very pro RU

He’s from Philly.

yah, and he’s constantly voted one of the best broadcast guys in mlb. He has a hell of a HR call, which I think was linked above.

I have always liked him. This board used to kill him for being corny, which he can be. Never bothered me

That is really cool because I live so close (Portland) and never watch or listen to the Mariners

[FrankZ_RU93]

Felt like a big boy game. Great broadcast

[PiscatawayMike]

Sims battled and beat prostate cancer a few years ago.

[bitnez]

To kill some time I read through the game thread on MSU 247 site. They hated the announcers. Haha. They also said we got a great whistle. All typical comments when you lose.

[bethlehemfan]

It's been a long time since I've seen him do a Rutgers game.

He does a great job.

[ru66]

His wife is a Rutgers grad

[Colbert17!]

Great call of the game by Sims. Never used the term cocknose once.

[RU_PAYBACK]

It was a treat listening to Dave again.

[srru86]

Great call by the crew. Particularly Sims.

Who said "Fear the headband" in reference to Mulcahy? Was it Sims?

I might need the T-Shift for that.
