My son is finishing up an Ag Econ degree at CSU....it's a wonderful school. I have no idea how he gets his studies done but he does.

But he chooses NU. He's a high academic kid who can play Big Ten bball....that's NU.

I’ve been very impressed with Collins’s recruiting success in this 2019 class. Gives me confidence that he and the other coaches will seal the deal with Roddy.

What kind of niche will Roddy have for us if he chooses NU? Some have mentioned CBarkley sort of player. Will he be an off guard? Is he a good shooter/great basketball passer as well as great fball qb? Defensive stopper? At 6'5", will he be a dominant rebounder? I hope he becomes a player like SLumpkin- is that about right? I would be psyched if he chooses NU, but I am just curious. I saw some hs tape online, but how will he translate to college?

He reminds me very much of Talen Horton-Tucker. At least in body type. Horton-Tucker however was a much higher rated player. We recruited Talen but missed out on him to Iowa State. Both are very much a skilled ball handler at their position and size. I think the coach is looking for a different type of player that fits a philosophy of having a diverse make-up of players on his roster.

he seems more of an anthony gaines type. more of a wing than sanjay with better shooting and less grunt work. i said gaines because while gaines is a defensive junk yard dog type kid, roddy is more of a scoring wing - but both do well at hoops by using their strength and size as an advantage

Well it turns out Roddy is one hell of a player. I've been following his CSU career and he is an absolute stud. Would have been nice to have his grit and athleticism on this team.

18.6 points, 7.8 rebounds a game and 57 percent shooting — not bad! And a 6-5, 250-pound wing who can shoot — give me that all day.

I check in on Roddy from time to time, too. Picking CSU seemed like an odd one at the time, but it turned out to be a very good fit. He's averaging 18.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game and the Rams are 16-1.

Different level of competition. They don't play anybody. Beating Adams State, Oral Roberts, Air Force, Wyoming Peru State, etc., doesn't really count!

They beat Creighton and he had 36. He had 19 in a win against Mississippi State, too. Talent adjusts and plays.

Exactly he flat out takes over games. They're also 35th in Kenpom, so clearly a good squad. We are 65th.

How many P5 offers do you think he’d get if he went in the portal? Probably more than any NU player with the possible exception of Nance.

I’d say maybe more than Nance. He’s one of 25 players on the Naismith mid season player of the year list.

I’m watching Roddy tonight for CSU vs San Diego St. He looked utterly gassed at the 4 minute mark, but then blew by a defender along the baseline for a reverse layup.

But something is amiss. CSU is the Rams, and their colors are green and white. Tonight their jerseys are red and have “Aggies” on the front, with player names on back. I guess it is some sort of tribute?

EDIT: The Rams were formerly the Aggies of Colorado A&M up until 1957.

They wear those in football once a season too. It always throws me off. My mom went to CSU so they’re my second team.
