Dawn Staley, great basketball coach, and I'll stop right there. She cancelled a basketball series with BYU over an alleged incident at a BYU volleyball game between Duke and BYU. I think everyone has seen the headlines. My comment is, if I'm the AD at South Carolina, my basketball coach doesn't cancel series. John Calipari doesn't cancel series at UK. There's a problem in this country and this goes way beyond sports. We have somehow made everything racial. I really get tired of the media, the thin skinned, and the absolute ******** that goes on anymore. Thoughts?

How do I know you are a racist?
A racist thing happened, but you didn't start a thread about that.
Someone did something to hope correct that in the future or protect their players.
Now you have a problem and need to post about it.
When your concern is more about chain of command for South Carolina Women's basketball than it is about racial harassment, you are a racist.
It's OK to call people the N word, but not ok for Dawn Staley to not play BYU? You might want to think about priorities.
Or, you already did. You racist bigot POS.

I remember when Duke students were alleged to have engaged in ugly racism. I take a wait and see perspective.

I was a regular at volleyball matches at UK as a student. Richardson’s story should be easily corroborated. She said it happened multiple times when she went to serve, even after she informed officials, to the point where she claims the man threatened her. The line judge, her teammates, someone in the crowd, should certainly be able to say whether she was correct in her perception. I don’t know how many people attended, but if the crowd was large, witnesses would be plentiful. If the crowd was small, voices travel. It seems odd to me there does not appear, from the articles I have read, that anyone can confirm the allegation. Some people are saying the man she alleged committed the awful act is autistic. Not sure if that is accurate, as that word is misused so often.

BYU police reviewed footage of the fan who was banned and determined that he did not yell any slurs when Richardson was serving. There is “footage,” as well. BYU and the Mormon history are easy targets for this kind of allegation. The footage showed the fan was not present the first time Richardson served and was on the phone the second time. “Those were the only two times she served in front of the BYU student section. A BYU student newspaper reached out to several people in the student section, none of whom had heard any slurs.” Black members of the BYU basketball team were also in the student section. Surely there would be corroboration. Has anyone seen any?

This has become a national story, as usual, with a lot of opinion, yet there seems to be a lot of questions left unresolved. The allegation alone is like gas on a fire in today’s culture. Our country has a history of racism and a history of false racist accusations. From an investigation perspective, I am not sure how anyone can be sure it even happened. The lack of corroborating evidence is really odd.

Of course you ignore ALL actual evidence suggesting no racial slur was ever said. That’s irrelevant because it goes against your preferred narrative.

Assuming this is true due to the crowd being mostly white makes you a racist…

Its actually really amazing that girl is more than happy to ruin someone or multiple someone’s life in order to advance her political agenda, and people are good with that. I watched first hand a similar scenario play out in a previous job. This female political activist falsely accused a coworker and several customers of blatant racism. The problem, much like this case was there was video footage of the entire incident and that woman made up the entire story. She still got to go on every major liberal network and play victim with no one calling her out. The company told our employee they’ll protect her job, but will not make a public statement of support due to feared backlash.

Once someone cries racism, facts no longer matter. The truth will get you cancelled.

Yeah, nobody else says it happened. Except you, maybe you can show up and tell everybody how you heard it.

Dawn Staley's Oofos commercial persuaded me to try a pair. For that, I am grateful and she gets a pass from me for any transgressions, real OR perceived. 😐

Hope you are never on a jury. Asinine blathering with zero factual corroboration but you're ready to hang em high. And call anyone else who disagrees a racist.

Why are democrats such sleazeballs?

The racist false flags outnumber anything legit by a humongous margin nowadays. Jussie syndrome.

****** virtue signaling move by Coach Staley. To cancel the series over the despicable actions of ONE FAN at a volleyball match…. It’s not like the BYU womens BB coach was down on the floor doing the heckling.

If we were to apply the “Staley Standard” across all sports due to actions of obnoxious fans, there would be very few games / matches played….in any sport.

IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Those black bball players wouldn't have just stood there with zero reactions if it did.

Use your brain.

I do agree that Staley is a skeeze. This isn't her first attempt at playing racial victim.

I actually went and tried them since that commercial was on non-stop. They are so cheaply made that it makes since now why she was the only one they could get to market them.

I have the sandal shown here. Why are they awesome? Go to a good shoe store and try a pair on. It's like walking on pillows My wife was really the one who wanted to try them after seeing the commercial with Staley. We went to a shoe store, and I was looking at some other shoes when she came over and said you have to try a pair. I did, and in less than 5 seconds, a SOLD sign flashed in my head. Outside of hiking in a preserve or bank fishing around lakes or canals, I wear sandals the rest of the time. They're hands down the most comfortable sandal I've ever had. I'm going to order a pair of the slides too. The only strange thing about them is that if you wear them to the beach, sand will stick to them like crazy, so I continue to use an old pair of Sketchers sandals I have.

I've had them since March, wear them daily and they're still just as comfortable as the day I bought them.

It can't be verified, no person was seen reacting to what would have obviously been a huge distraction, and unfortunately, false accusations of racism by people of color have become more and more common. These are the facts.

Staley is a good coach but also an attention seeker. Is it lost on her where she coaches?

Proof and POINT OUT THE PERSON!!! I GUARANTEE THE Y WOULD EXPEL THAT PERSON FROM SCHOOL. The probelem is this is an "alleged" racial incident people like this automatically say the person is guilty and blames the entire BYU university because it's whitey doing it.

Pretty clear it never happened. Amazing how quickly msm just gobbles up any and all allegations of racism.
It is also crazy how they don't come back and validate or correct their mistakes. Therefore, you have a lot of people reading the initial story, not seeing a follow-up, and thinking it really happened. Very sad state of affairs and driven specifically for political and financial purposes.

Yeah this story is falling apart quickly. She said it was yelled every time she served. In A Gym with what, maybe a few hundred people attending , it would’ve been heard live and later heard on the match tape. The guy they accused is apparently mentally handicapped; he got kicked out afterwards but apparently all he did was yell a couple of times not to hit it into the net. Not one person has said they saw or heard anything.

This is about as credible as Smollett. Yet Nobody will be made to answer for it. Duke will do nothing and will not even ask her about it. She will be lauded for hearing and speaking “her truth”. But the problem is , it isn’t “the truth”. And innocent people are slandered and suffer for it.

Pretty amazing isn’t it, that with all this racism out there permeating every aspect of society, that so much of it needs to be made up?

These constant fake allegations of racism are the psychosis that emerges when you are taught that everything you don’t like is racist.

If Dawn Staley has any character, she issues an apology to BYU. Today.

Then, she reads up on what ‘presumption of innocence’ means.

You hit the worst part, this is not a victimless crime that girl is committing. That guy will absolutely suffer for this and the school will suffer as well. People will now be afraid to wear a BYU shirt out of fear they’ll be grouped in with racists.

Not only will this evil girl not get punished for the harm she’s causing, she’ll be celebrated. Then we’ll wonder why the next person does the same thing…

Something about rewarding certain behavior…
