Good for Fox. Sacramento is a dumpster of an organization. Feel bad for Monk though.

Whats funny is that Sacremento was like "we need to move on from Fox, we're just not gonna get to where we want to go with him.. SO LETS GO GET ZACH LAVINE!!"

Shocked that Sacramento did this trade without getting another young PG like Castle from SA. Definitely happy with this move for De'Aaron.

Well, Sacramento’s primary haul from this is the pile of future draft picks they’re getting. Lavine is just bonus, and it’s a pretty nice bonus considering he’s putting up near all star caliber numbers this year.

With the near certainty that Fox wasn’t gonna re-sign when he hits free agency next year, this is a good deal for Sacramento. Or at least about the best they could possibly get given their lack of negotiating leverage.

That's big! I was expecting them to make a move soon since they have so many young players and still have a chance to make the playoffs. Also, they'll still have cap room to sign a max free agent for next season. Since Wemby will probably be one of the top 10 players in the league next year if he's not already the Spurs might be the team to beat in the 2025-2026 season.

I have a feeling the Spurs will pick up a lot of disaffected Mavericks fans now too, just in time to watch Fox and Wemby develop together.

I was thinking about Fox for another reason today. After the handful of recent players made statements of support for Cal, I got to thinking about the locker room scene after Fox, Monk, and Bam got knocked out of the tournament. The real emotion in there was indicative of the culture Cal's teams had here in his first 7 or 8 years, where despite their short tenures they really cared about the program's success. And the flippant way players reacted last night is indicative of how that culture slipped towards the end.

I love Fox. He's a bonafide NBA star.

But he's no Luka. The Kings got way more out of Fox than the Mavs got for Luka.

I'd probably take Lavine over AD if I'm a GM.
