What are you trying to say? You're saying that Hillary won't be the nominee?the candidate that keeps winning the primaries will not be your nominee - are you happy with that?
Ecstatic! What a show this is going to be. The GOP has struggled to win national races for a lot of different reasons-their message and demographics being the prime reasons. And with the convention apparently going to be contested, this may be the end of the nuts controlling the GOP. They will get pissed and leave forming a new party splitting the GOP in half. Good luck winning the Presidency with that formula. I hate to help you guys but if you'd have thrown out the religious nuts and birther crew a long time ago, people wouldn't look at the GOP as a bunch of whackos.the candidate that keeps winning the primaries will not be your nominee - are you happy with that?
I believe HC has won more states to this point. She didn't win Wisconsin. I don't think that a major blow to her. If she loses NY, it will be interesting to see how the super delegates split.the candidate that keeps winning the primaries will not be your nominee - are you happy with that?
Hillary has 1749 delegates, Bernie has 1061. So while he's on a winning streak currently, he's still far behind and he won't win the giant states like New York and California. And unlike the GOP scrambling to keep the nomination out of Trump's hands (as if Teddy Cruz could beat Hillary), nobody on the Democrat side is trying to figure out a way to keep Hillary from being the nominee. Wonder why that is?the candidate that keeps winning the primaries will not be your nominee - are you happy with that?
Exactly. EERS is just trying to start some drama on the dem side. He's got enough drama on his side...Trump...contested convention....no chance at the WH.Hillary has 1749 delegates, Bernie has 1061. So while he's on a winning streak currently, he's still far behind and he won't win the giant states like New York and California. Am I wrong in understanding the Super Delegates can switch and vote for whoever they want at the convention?Hillary has 1749 delegates, Bernie has 1061. Yes, they can,Am I wrong in understanding the Super Delegates can switch and vote for whoever they want at the convention?

They can, but HC is the establishment candidate, and the super delegates represent the party establishment. If you think back to 84, Gary Hart had momentum in that nomination process. Mondale got the nod because he was the establishment guy.Yes, they can,
Remove the super delegates and how close is it?Hillary has 1749 delegates, Bernie has 1061. That's like saying 'remove all those 3 pointers and we win the game'.Remove the super delegates and how close is it?
Remove the super delegates and how close is it?
Not moot, since we don't know yet which way the super delegates will go, and they aren't required to finally declare until July. But if I were a betting man I'd say that probably 90 percent of them will stay with Hillary. And once again, Democratic leadership isn't pressuring Bernie to pull out that I've heard, nor is their hair on fire because Hillary has a big lead. And if the situation were reversed and Bernie had the big lead, they wouldn't be conspiring against him the way they are Trump. It's too bad that the GOP let the party be taken over by the crazies, otherwise there might have been a state governor other than John Kasich willing to give it a go.That's like saying 'remove all those 3 pointers and we win the game'.
Moot.
Pretty sure Clinton has a lock on them, but we'll see. He's not even a registered democrat. My point was that the superdelegates are an integral part of the formula and it's meaningless to compare Bernie vs Clinton without them. Not moot, since we don't know yet which way the super delegates will go, and they aren't required to finally declare until July. And then she gets a pile of superdelegates, he doesn't and then it's game, set, match. No, it's not. You remove the super delegates and the race becomes much closer. Additionally, look at their respective margins of victory.
And then she gets a pile of superdelegates, he doesn't and then it's game, set, match.
Very true. I heard Linsdey Graham say that they've given up on trying to win the WH, and this is now about saving the party. It's too bad that the GOP let the party be taken over by the crazies, otherwise there might have been a state governor other than John Kasich willing to give it a go.
Another moot point. You're on a roll.Exactly - not exactly very democratic is it?
Are they voting for the one they want to administer over the country or are they voting for their donkey without consideration for the country? What do they see as the major obstacle facing our country? Does their candidate have the ability to address the problems better than the current individual?Because doing the right thing has never mattered to that party.
Is that truly your recollection of the Gary Hart affair? They can, but HC is the establishment candidate, and the super delegates represent the party establishment. If you think back to 84, Gary Hart had momentum in that nomination process. Mondale got the nod because he was the establishment guy.
The dems are simply letting the system play out. Not sure what else there is to say.Because doing the right thing has never mattered to that party.

It would, but I think she's got a 10 point lead here in NY. The political climate here isn't very Bernie. If somehow Bernie were to win NY things could get interesting. As of now Bernie is not a threat.
It would get very interesting, but I guarantee that you wouldn't have Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi talking about how to keep him from getting the nomination. But when your leading candidate is an ignorant blowhard and the next "best" alternative is a neo-facist who wasn't even born in this country, I can see where a commitment to preserving your party might start to come to the fore. Republicans are seeing the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Reagan heading straight for the cliff with Trump and the wheel. If somehow Bernie were to win NY things could get interesting. As of now Bernie is not a threat.
Lindsey is my senator and am thoroughly surprised that he can speak without a string running from his mouth to Sen from Arizona's hand.Very true. I heard Linsdey Graham say that they've given up on trying to win the WH, and this is now about saving the party.
The "affair" was in the run up to the 1988 nomination process. I will say that my recollection of the 1984 isn't all that great. I paid attention, and I liked Hart a lot more than Mondale. I think the number of wins were about equal between the 2 in the primaries. Is that truly your recollection of the Gary Hart affair?
They don't have to. I don't think you are dumb enough to think that Bernie was ever thought to be a SERIOUS candidate. He was and still is nothing but a name on the Democrat ballots. Thats all he was ever intended to be. Cute ......but no real threat. It would get very interesting, but I guarantee that you wouldn't have Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi talking about how to keep him from getting the nomination.
He may not be a winning candidate but he is certainly a serious candidate as witnessed by the number of primaries/caucuses that he's won. They don't have to. Do you consider Trump to be a "serious candidate," or a sideshow? And as moe said, if Bernie's not a serious candidate, how is it that he's winning more than he's losing these days? Don't discount his appeal, especially among younger voters. I don't think he'll get the nomination, and if he doesn't, Hillary needs to find a way to draw the Bern'ers to her camp. They don't have to. Contemporary joke - Gary Hart to Donna Rice: "I said lick my erection, not wreck my election."The "affair" was in the run up to the 1988 nomination process. I will say that my recollection of the 1984 isn't all that great. I paid attention, and I liked Hart a lot more than Mondale. For a bunch of folks who struggle t win national elections the GOP seems to have done OK.Ecstatic! What a show this is going to be.
