I'm glad some are feeling rosey about the game Saturday. I'm not. I have not seen any evidence that we can beat a P4 school. I dread it.
I wish they never would have resumed this series. The way Kentucky fans were treated in Bloomington in December of 2011, should have been the end of the series forever, if not longer.

My Wife and I were there, and I’ve never been treated like that anywhere else.. Screamed at the whole day. Food and drinks thrown on us. Rocking our vehicle when we were leaving.

Indiana fans are the worst. And no other fanbase is a close second.

100% after. I loathe IU dating back to the mid 70s. I enjoyed not playing them because they needed us, we didn’t need them.

Surprising to see posters here confident in this game. We absolutely suck and haven’t shown anything. Looks like another loss to me.
If the Cats play hard and as a team, a win at home against Indiana could be the reset this year’s team really needs. To me, more than anything it comes down to the collective desire to win outweighing all the personal animosity. But yeah, if my aunt had…

why did the IU and UK football teams in the 90s play basketball against one another?

I would assume that was really ugly basketball…was it televised?

😉🤣
If you are not joking. You missed the point. In the 1990's Kentucky and Indiana played football every year. It was terrible.

This year's basketball game will be just as bad as the football rival was in the 90's.

Calipari’s last remaining stain on the program will be erased on Dec. 13 when the Kentucky-Indiana series returns to the court. I’m among those thrilled that Calipari is long gone, and I’m fired up that the series is back on. UK vs UofL is a rivalry, but Kentucky vs Indiana is The Rivalry. Should have never been halted. Go Cats!
Calipari’s stain when IU refused to play neutral court games as it was played for decades when the series was at its best? Y’all fight against UK no matter the issue.

yeah, I was being totally sarcastic... which is why I used the emojis.

However, as bad as the football was, maybe those teams would've been more entertaining to watch playing basketball??? 😄😄

They passing game would have been the same. Several bad passes and a lot of dropped balls.

Kentucky needs the win worse than Indiana
I agree, I feel like we should take care of business on this one. The way we’ve played, I’m not sure why I feel this way, because we fans care more than the players that are from anywhere and everywhere, and doesn’t fully understand this rivalry. Hopefully, Noah and JJ understand this by talking to relatives and such, and get in faces about this game. But, somehow I feel decent about this one. The players have been grilled in interviews thank goodness, and from what I’ve seen it looks like some may “get it” now. I hope it translates to the court my friends!

Not sure how OP feels this way. This UK team has not shown it can win against non sisters of the blind schools yet.
And you better believe Pope is going to feel some huge pressure on Saturday.
And you better also believe the world will end sometime around 10pm Saturday night if IU comes to Rupp and hands us our asses.

If we play like we did at Gonzaga we will not win another game this year. This is no exaggeration.
Any team with a grown man like Ike will be trouble until we get JQ on the floor. With the 'charging' call not being a thing anymore, they'll just score pretty much at will over our 5s.

I thought Moreno stepped up in the UNC game. Gave nothing against Gonzaga. He defended the rim a little in UNC game. We had nothing from nobody.

IU is not an overly athletic team, but they run there offense well and they have 3-point shooters. They also play very hard disciplined defense and force contested shots-did a great on Mikel Brown. The game will feature several lead changes, but Indiana’s composure in the final minutes, highlighted by clutch 3’s and late free throws…seals the win. IU is a very well-coached and disciplined team and that well over-come UofK’s athletic advantage.

Rupp played UL 3 times in 43 years...for the same reason we should play IU the same amount. Screw IU! They only worry me once in a long while. This might be one of those times because we've been sooo bad... but I'm gonna trust Pope and the team to get it together right now. If we don't...we will lose.

No one under 55 knows IU exists in basketball

The series did nothing for the last 20 plus years than to give IU a prime time tv spot. It was the equivalent of scheduling Rutgers.
Yeah. This is the one thing I was with Calipari on. **** IU. I won't care if we win anymore than I care about us beating Rutgers, and it will be re-aired on every NCAA television broadcast for 3 decades if we lose. This game should have stayed permanently canceled.

IU fan here.

IU is a live by the three/die by the three older team without a ton of athleticism and no inside scoring game or rim protection. But they move the ball well and play hard. Wilkerson and Tucker are fantastic shooters, but when the ball doesn't move enough or they miss a few in a row IU is not good because almost no one on IU can get to the rim.

Connor Enright will probably draw Oweh. Enright is an undersized, super-chippy veteran who creates a couple of frustration offensive fouls per game and who opposing fan bases grow to hate; he's the guy that opponents claim grab and hold on every play. If he doesn't quickly foul out at Rupp his attitude will no doubt be a topic of discussion in your threads.

Excellent to see the series start up again - it's been a really long time since either team has been a national contender; hoping that both of these new coaches have what it takes to right the ship. The Hoosier fanbase generally so far has been really happy with Devries; unlike Archie and Woody this IU team is playing modern offense and seems to be really connected with each other and engaged on the court. If IU isn't there yet, at least with this staff the team is a fun watch. And with Cignetti's boys to root for, that's more than enough for IU diehards.

Wilkerson looks pretty good so far. DeVries is doughy & slow compared to his play at W. Virginia and Drake - he can still shoot it, but he looks glacier-slow. Enright epitomizes what this UK squad is desperately missing - unselfish effort and grit. His gherri curl mullet-porn stache ensemble is nice too.

I’m hoping for a technical against Pope and Enright, and a UK win at the buzzer!

Are the Calipari lemmings still griping about playing an in-season game against Indiana? 🤣
