i was focussed on the offensive inefficiency of the game. but was that the same duke team we were watching all year? the defensive effort in the half court was outstanding. this looked almost like a different team. shoot - the only reason its close is because we made some ridiculous turnovers. basically gave them 10 points.

Good call madrussian, I mentioned this last night. The defensive rank popped to 27th. I am very pleased!

It's always been about Duke. Duke can beat anyone when they are engaged and on their game. When they want to play D they can. During the two games streak it just seemed they lacked the effort. I still contend Oak isn't as bad as he's made out to be. I think he has been a passive defender in an effort to limit foul trouble, which I'm totally fine with. Can't wait until Sunday.

Since K took over our big men (it seems) have always been taught that way of defending. When in the paint belly up hands high but not as aggressive as many teams in the blocked shot. Yes Sheldon was maybe more aggressive than others but many blocks of ours come off the ball from help. If you look back most of our best big men Laettner alarie boozer parks brand zoubek .. Up to okafor belly up and extend .... And I THINK it's been taught to stay out of foul trouble which keeps other teams off the line. Just my opinion . But other big men of ours were better on the high screen and other parts than Jah. It will be interesting to see how his body changes in the pros. When you watch him close and you really see it when headed to foul line he is winded at times out there. Wouldn't trade him for anyone though. GODUKE.

I don't think many people can complain about our defense after these last three games. We just have to play that way on Sunday in order to have a shot at winning. Saying that the Zags are offensively sound would be an understatement.

Talk, Switch, and help, we will be fine. Tremendous defense when we do these things, and if we go down Sunday, one or all of these will be missing.
Every game we have gotten into trouble this year, we have not had the focus to do them. The first thing I look at to start the game is if we are talking. When we do, our offense just seems to be clicking.
Please Talk, Switch, and help Sunday!!!!!
Go Duke!!

Defensive effort was great! i was a little less impressed with the defense to close the game out though- I think we go to stall ball and that affects our defense a bit. I like the decision to go to stall ball against Utah, but I hope we can maintain defensive intensity if we slow the game down a bit
