Okay, it was a bad call. That has nothing to do with sex.
Incorrect.... I woman is MUCH more easily deceived than a man. Pitching a baseball is very much about deception....

She was created with the ability to be deceived, actually. We can get into Scripture if you'd like, but people don't want to hear it.

It's not a bad thing, it's just the way it is there are things a woman does that a man never could, as well.... But this is not one of them

In her defense, it’s only one call. But I can say this…every NBA game I watch with a female referee … they always make a random out of nowhere call where you can tell everyone on the court is thinking, “what the hell?” And it’s obvious the players and coaches can’t get in their faces like they might do with a male referee. They literally just have to shrug their shoulders and go with it.

I know this seems sexist and small-minded. I get it. But I’m not exaggerating. It happens without fail. And some of the men make some strange ones too…but they get the reputation of being poor refs.

I mean every game I watch with a male referee I see the same thing as far as bad calls. It’s called being human. It literally has nothing to do with gender.

No need to bring religion into a secular topic.

A poor ref is a poor ref.

I watch a good many NBA games. I shrug my shoulders almost every game due to calls by the referees. Very few women calling these games.

Agree. That’s my point. It happens without fail. Not a single one of them is a solid ref. And it’s obvious the coaches and players can’t react the same way as they would a male. Even the announcers don’t react the same way.

I watch a lot of NBA too, and besides the top 5-6 refs, the male refs make just as many random, bad calls. You are able to learn the rules and apply them or not. Watch guys like Ray Acosta ref an NBA game and you will never complain about a woman calling a game again. The only difference I see is the players don't feel free to absolutely go in on a female ref like they do the male ones.

Maybe she zoned out momentarily or was distracted by something else in the distance. Nice that ABS corrected it.

A poor ref is a poor ref, regardless of sex. Set a proper standard for quality, and whoever meets it, meets it, regardless of sex.

Has it ever helped anyone - other than the person hired - when you hirer a lesser qualified candidate by using discrimination as the reason you hire them?

I consider myself a conservative Christian and this is a load of crap lol.

Obviously there are some things men can do that women can't; calling balls and strikes is not one of them.

Checking back in for the first time since the OP.

Glad to see some folks still have a sense of humor.

Unsurprised to see that certain folks do not.

Affirmative action and DEI are not the same.
A lot of people don't understand that. They see DEI initiatives as some racial quota system. They don't understand or are unaware that racial quota systems have been unconstitutional since 1978. DEI initiatives are generally instituted to create a culture where all employees are valued. They are, also, used as a recruiting vehicle to locate employees of different backgrounds and cultures. Employees are generally required to meet some minimum standard in most occupations. So this notion about DEI meaning "Didn't Earn It" is patently false. Now, this does not mean that the employee with the highest grades or test scores is going to get the job all the time. Employment is about fitting the employer's needs. As I have said repeatedly, an employer can hire whoever it wants as long as that employee fits a minimum standard set by that industry.
