I'm with you I dont see the infatuation people have with him as a coach. Great player for sure as a coach not so much.If Deion recruited straight from the NFL, he still couldn’t win. I can’t understand why he continues to garner support.
I agree that everyone is going to try and ride that train. Its take talent to spot the diamond in the rough type players and even more talent to develop them into high level athletes. Cignetti is a anomaly in my opinion and super hard to duplicate.Recruiting “production over potential” from the lower mid-majors worked for Cignetti, but it ain’t gonna work for everyone.
There’s a reason those guys had to start out at smaller schools. Not that many are equipped to make the jump to the higher level. Cignetti has a special eye for identifying the few that are …but I doubt the same applies to Deion.
