When 80% of those passes are screens.... it makes it easy to throw a high percentage

There is no doubt Art is the better QB. I dont care about “Gleeson’s system”. This is a high school offense.
Art is 0-2 as a starter. Vedral is 2-0. You are what your record says you are.

Vedral’s decision making is way too slow. As a result, the RB’s are delayed on the option handoff. And the receivers are covered by the time the ball gets to them, or he aborts the throw. We need a faster thinker.

You realize he's 17-21 with a dropped TD pass, don't you? Sure, they're mostly short yardage passes, but we've seen way worse at QB (and we've seen better).
He is bad. I cannot think of one thing he does well enough to be our starter and he clearly does not know how to do the RPO like it is supposed to be done.

They are all 2-0. Doesn’t mean they all played well. The offense is terrible. Luckily the other units played great and bailed them out two weeks in a row.

The other guys got yanked unlike this pile of waste
Oooh, I’ll play!! You’re a pile of waste, too! Why? You have NO talent and are, at best, an internet warrior in Mom’s basement. At worst, just a miserable human! Why?

I could care less if you don’t like Vedral’s play. He might not be your favorite QB but when you stoop so low as to bash a student athlete you’re nothing but full of bovine excrement. So glad there’s an ignore button.

And now, I eagerly await your riposte! (Google it if you’re not sure what that word means…). I’m sure you’ll come back with some breathtaking response that will prove, without a doubt, that you’re a pathetic waste of humanity.

Art beat Nebraska. He’s just a lot more talented. He’s gone because he’s a pro-style QB and we’ll be grooming Wimsatt to continue this dynamic, indefensible system Gleeson runs. It was never about Art v Vedrals talent.
Ummm, Nebraska sucks. Try something else.

I really have a problem with what you posted - shouldn't it be equine excrement?

Listen Vedral is no Heisman candidate, and he has his limitations, but he needs help from an offensive line that has done nothing to help. Now in terms of comparing Vedral to Nova, Nova certainly could wing the ball downfield. However he was easily rattled and that would almost always result in turnovers. Vedral can't really swing it, but he doesn't get rattled and for the most part avoids turnovers. Now in order for RU the beat or at least be competitive, against the big boys, he is going to have to take chances and try to swing it into tight coverage down field.

It is amazing that even when we win there are still a few Rutgers ( fans) who are not happy . Think back just several years ago under Ash. We would have happily taken today’s victory as a success. Vedral will never be that big play QB. He is the one who gives us the best opportunity to be in games where we should be competitive. I will bring up two plays , one last week against Temple and one today which shows me he can make some plays. Last week ‘s pass to Langan down the middle on a post pattern and today ‘s pass to Haskins on the same route. The O line is still a work in progress but I do like Pierce and Felter as the newest contributors. The D is legit and that will keep us in games even against better teams. Enjoy the progression because it will happen. Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program and Schiano will get those necessary pieces. And our future is now here wearing# 9.

Good post. An awful lot of morons in this thread who have no understanding of football. Vedral managed the game well, taking what the defense gave him, which wasn't much, as our running game was anemic with just 50 yards on 1.2 ypc and he was regularly pressured while throwing, resulting in him mostly throwing short passes underneath, which is why he was 22-28 for only 145 yards.

However, he threw a strike to Melton for a dropped TD, a strike to Haskins that was called back for OPI and a strike to Haskins for our 2nd TD (after missing Melton who was open for a TD), so it should have been two TD passes and about 170 yards. Still not great, but no turnovers and we won the game. That's basically the definition of "serviceable." And way better than Sitkowski, who was and is a TO machine.

He's not "trash" and he's not the "worst QB ever" and people who say that should have their football cards revoked. We're 2-0, which is the bottom line, for now, but he'll definitely have to play better to beat better teams, but so will the OL, which has underperformed.

The reality is that Noah is the best we got and its probably not close. Simon and Snyder were unable to separate from each other to establish a clear #2. Hard to think Art would not be the #2 if he was still here. NV at his best is a game manager. His focus is on not doing anything to lose the game versus taking risks that could win it. His stats were better than the offensive productivity. I thought the O Line got pushed around most of the game and that certainly did not help.

I'd say the O-line made Vedral look worst than he played. The big fatties today were just abysmal. They were missing plays that are taught in midget league football.

Shouldn’t you be back on the Syracuse board? I mean you did defend that article of theirs bashing our uniforms for this game.

Not even their own fans wanted anything to do with that take, but you did.

Nor the ACC crew that broadcast the game who described them as awesome.

Now there's a hot take!

Were you not around for the Dom Natale experiment? Tylin Oden? Schwenk?
Schwenk? Chad Schwenk? That Dude never even got his shot as Greg handled the job to the new OCs son over Chad before the true frosh made play one. You were 2 fer 3 there.

Not high on noah at all!! But the Play calls and online aren't helping one bit.

It wasn’t “their” opinion. It was the opinion of the writer. The main point is that I didn’t care what the guy thinks and neither should anyone else.

I also didn’t love the uniform. Thoughtful gesture..yes. But the uniform itself ? Not my style. Does that make me unpatriotic or unfeeling ? Hardly.

While he's not great - neither is a lot of the talent he depends on. The OL sucks. Everyone needs to improve.

D is OK though.

We all know the offense needs to improve, but here is an important stat, in my opinion:
First two non-conference games in 2018: 1-1, 6 interceptions
First two non-conference games in 2019: 1-1, 4 interceptions (three picks against UMass)
First two con-conference games in 2021: 2-0, 0 interceptions

It's not great offense, no, but it's an improvement. Rutgers won during the Schiano years because of turnover margin. It slipped dramatically during Flood, and the losses started happening.

The Cuse game looked like a rugby match.
