I sure hope Scaife comes back.Scoring is going to be a really big problem.
If we have Sanders, Parker, and Sciafe on the floor at the same time, Parker will be playing the SF.
Every year we wonder who will step up and replace the starters that are leaving.
I have confidence that next years players will be stepping up enough to improve on this year and make the Tourney.
Also have confidence in the recruiting class coming in to be an asset either in practice or on the flood game-time .

and going forward as there are no recruits coming in. Everyone talks about 1000 wins but boy it may take more than 2 years and it is not going to be good but also going to set the program back another 5 years at this rate

Do you mean the woe is us for RU having a 19-15 record last season or those who refuse to admit there is a possibility of having over 20 wins in the 2016-17 season along with a NCAA bid because the returning players stepped-up and the new players helped , either on the floor during games or practice, the Rutgers WBB team show it's far better than the doom and gloomers claimed it would be.
I'm looking forward to seeing the HOF RU WBB HC bring the RU WBB Program back to the Dance in 2016-17 and coming so close to 1000, even those who whine contiluly about CVS will be rooting for her.
Of course you all know that I put in HOF HC because some of the Stringer detractors seem to hate it when used.
But it's true and has every right to be part of describing the RU WBB HC and I will not stop using HOF when talking about C.Vivian Stringer as a HC.
I prefer the extremely optimistic term rather than the delusional put down type of classification .
But glad to see you want to be wrong and no one can say for sure if RU can or can't make the tourney next season.
I just think they can and won't let those that feel otherwise make this a doom and gloom board.
Shrita the No. 77 overall recruit in the Class of 2013 according toESPN HoopGurlz and No. 17 at the point guard position .
Going into her Junior season and that’s when college experience starts showing and improvement is made because of that experience.
Tyler is the type of player we can expect to help get a NCAA bid. Going into her senior year should help he handle the leadership load
Khadaizha going into her sophomore season should benefit from her freshman year and live up to being considered No. 38 by Prospect Nation and No. 60 among the ESPNW/HoopGurlz class of 2015 rankings ... Also ranked as the eighth best point guard in the class by Prospect Nation .
Victoria Harris also going into her sophomore season was listed at No. 16 among power forwards in the class of 2015 by Prospect Nation and should start showing that talent as a soph.
On paper the RU WBB team has a pretty solid foundation with those 4 and others should step up making it a team with Tourney possibilities and maybe
one its fans expect to go past the first round and maybe deeper in the tourney.
Just showing on paper can be looked on more than one way and what one considers a negative on paper , could be turned around to a positive with the right players to build on or around.
The question: how this team will get a winning record in the BiG and get an rpi around top 40. They have some nonzero chance if they do everything right and some other teams don't. They need something better strategy wise than this year, when they had more length, depth and experience and did not make it. That's the interesting part. Go RU.
You can always find something to worry about, wghile I tend not to worry over every little thing.
The core players will do fine and the rest of the team will support them we;ll enough to make the tourney.
As for strategy and the B1G schedule, I have faith that RU's HOF HC will prove she still has it
and have a tourney bound team that did just fine in B1G play along with proving their worth in the OOC schedule they played on the way to getting invited to the Dance.
I don't know how this team is going to do next year. I do know that it will have one of the all-time top scorers in team history, several other players who seemed to be improving this year and showed some real sparks at times (Khadaizha comes to mind in particular) and a bunch of players were ranked in the top 100 when they were recruited. I wouldn't sell them short.
I don't think guard skills or even depth will be a major problem. Hoping there may be a spring signing surprise to add post depth. (But no evidence.) And need some luck to avoid injuries. And maybe some luck with the BiG schedule which can definitely be a lottery.
I don't see any way next year's squad would be an improvement over this year's squad without changes in coaching philosophy. That's just my opinion.

why do you feel the need to constantly attack those that dont think its a NCAA team next year. This year with superior talent with seniors they didnt get it done. I saw little from the freshmen to indicate that they can up their game to the level it needs to be to make a NCAA tourney. Its basically Scaife on an island next year. You can have your opinion but let others have theirs without a constant lecture which makes the board unreadable and IMO fantasyland

As far as this board being unreadable because those who preach doom and gloom find being optimistic not to their ;liking, maybe I make this board a place to avoid for them.
Also if saying I'm living in fantasyland and being called delusional by others is something that makes this board more readable for you , maybe your view of whose attacking who needs to be reevaluated .
Just because someone looks at the RU WBB program in a positive light and posts that way , doesn't make this board unreadable , unless you don't like to see negative opinions about the WBB program challenged.
Seems like you challenge positive thoughts about the team, but don't consider your replies attacks. But let the opposite happen and it is an attack that makes the board unreadable.
You need some big people on the inside that can score some, but more importantly that can defend without fouling unnecessarily. All the top teams have legit defenders on the inside to help out. The other thing is being able to make threes. It's hard to win if your being out scored by 7-10, 3 pts every time we face as good team ! The B1G seems to be loaded with these shooters, except us. Most of these teams attempt a min of 15 - 3 pts and so far we haven't, even in desperation. This is the direction the women's game is still proceeding and we have to get players that are capable of playing this type of BB.
Just for kicks, I looked up the stats on 3-pointers.
Over the season as a whole, RU averaged 11.60 attempts and 3.70 makes per game, while opponents averaged 15.57 attempts per game (just under 4 more attempts per game) and 5.24 makes per game (a bit over 1.5 more makes from 3 per game), with opponents outshooting RU from 3 by .337 to .319 (not a big difference). RU way outshot opponents from 2-point range - .477 versus .399 and, interestingly, while opponents hit 51 more 3-pointers than RU, RU hit a whopping 154 more 2-pointers than opponents.
During the B1G season, RU averaged 11.83 attempts and 3.61 makes per game, while opponents averaged 16.44 attempts (just about 4.6 more attempts per game) and 5.44 makes per game (a bit more than 1.8 more makes per game), with opponents outshooting RU by .331 to .305 (a slightly bigger difference than overall). The 2-point shooting differential was not nearly as big as overall, with RU shooting .463 versus .430, but the differences in made 3-pointers (opponents hit 33 more) and made 2-pointers (RU hit 89 more) were fairly similar.
I should add that all of these numbers reflect a real change from 2014-15. RU shot something like 7 3-pointers per game in B1G play that year, making just over 2, so both attempts and makes increased by more than 50%. And shooting percentage improved, too, although not by as much.

That is really a worthless stat because many times we have to hoist up a 3 pointer with the shot clock running down because all this offense is is passing the ball around the perimeter and then chucking up a 3 or a long 2 pointer with no time on the clock. that is our offense
I know that's the prevailing theory, but RU shot better from both 2- and 3-point range in 2015-16 than in 2014-15, which suggests fewer desperation shots, not more.
The biggest impact of the 3 pointer, though, is not the fact that it is worth more (though that is definitely nice) but that the threat of the 3 distorts defense and creates easier looks on offense. We actually saw that a fair bit this year with Hernandez in the game, before she got hurt. Teams that were content to sit back in a zone against RU would switch to match-up when Hernandez came in the game, due to being afraid of her shooting. If you want to understand why Hollivay scored so little this year, it is because it was impossible to get her the ball in a zone with three defenders loitering around her. When you look at games where teams either played match-up against RU (which was a massive opposing coaching fail) or were forced into match-up by Hernandez, Hollivay immediately was able to score in the paint. How many 3's Rutgers makes is not as important as the other teams being afraid of letting us take open 3's. With the exception of Hernandez, there was no player on Rutgers that defenses were unwilling to leave open outside the arc. That represents a huge problem in modern basketball and a big reason we were not able to compete offensively in the Big 10.
I agree that it's important to have a 3-point attack (and it's probably even better if it's spread around), and - more important than I think a lot of people realize - that Cynthia's injury had a significant impact on the offense because she was by far the best 3-point threat. My real point is that people who think that RU isn't trying to take more 3-pointers are incorrect; as often is the case, critiques often are a year or two behind what CVS actually is trying to do.
