19 points and 21 rebounds with 2+ minutes to go. He has looked like a man amongst boys at times tonight.

How in the world did he almost redshirt nearly all of last year? What was Collins thinking?

Also, Pitts holds the NU records for rebounds in a game with 29 in 1965. I'd happily place a wager that he'll break that 50 year old record by the time he's done. Any takers?

Pardon will be the player amongst all of our quality players who will play in the NBA. Just an incredible player and only a sophomore

Getting to 29 requires both teams to miss a ton of shots but it will be fun to see.

Early in this game I had the thought that he was starting to remind me of the second coming of Wes Unseld. Then he blew right through that and had me daring to think Russell! What a game!

Great great game by Derek. He will be very fun to watch continue to play and develop.

One thing I noticed. I don't see many players stand 8-10 inches behind the line when shooting free throws. Not sure I've ever seen that.

He can shoot free throws from the three point line if he's getting 20+ boards a night!

Not to take anything away from Pardon but I think Nebraska was focused on taking away Lindsey's game. That is the problem with having a good team. You can't focus on one guy or somebody else will light you up, Thank you Mr Pardon.
I mean this in the nicest way, but Lindsey didn't have a game tonight. Something was wrong. He didn't move at all on offense and played like he was stapled to the ground and didn't want the ball. He's truly my favorite player, but it looked like he took the night off tonight.

Coach said he had back spasms. I hope that isn't something that lingers. We can't afford to have him not playing well heading into this stretch of games.

Pardon was magnificent tonight. Hope his ankle is ok, he rolled it pretty badly the second time.

I agree with this. He's not the kind of guy who is going to score 30 points, but he can be just the right kind of role player on a good team that can come in and play defense and clean the glass. And yeah, only a sophomore, so who knows? I might be underselling him now.

He was terrific tonight. But if he's going to play in the NBA he'll have to develop an offensive besides putbacks and dunks. But I liked the 15-foot face up he hit tonight.

1) I was thinking the same thing. I hope it's not one of those things that blows up overnight.

2) DP vs. Bryant is key on Sunday. I think Pardon can stay with him.

Rebounding is the one skill where college and pro performance tends to be best correlated. If DP can put up 15-board games with regularity over the next 2 1/2 seasons, there will be a team willing to draft him.

He's not big enough to be a top tier rim protector in the NBA, but boards are about effort and feel and wanting it more.

He has decent form on his midrange jumper. Makes you wonder if he can get beyond the 3-point line at some point in his career.

I've actually seen him before practice firing up some three pointers and hitting them, but of course, doing it in a game is totally different. He has a nice touch on the ball and I think he can expand his game next year.

He has great hands and great positioning. With the wrap off his right hand, he is back to handling the ball better and grabbing every loose ball is in his general area. And his scoring around the rim is money!

How good is Dererk Pardon?

He can listen to Third Eye Blind and still be cool. I, on the other hand, cannot.

Collins had two Sr centers and also Skelly and if they had remained healthy there would have been no minutes so burning his shirt would not have made sense. When the injuries occurred, the minutes were there

Well w he will probably get to play NEB about 3-4 more times (including BTT) so there is a chance. Otherwise, I suppose he could do it against someone else...

After watching him in the exhibition game, there was no question red shirt was the right move. The improvement he showed in the 2 months he was practicing was amazing.

he actually seems to make those midrange jumpers as often or more so in the flow of play than he does when he is standing at the FT line....
