Stranded and can only access one musical performer's catalog. I'd have to go with the Stones. Lot of variety throughout their long career, blues-based, dozens of classic songs and many damn fine ones. For me, not really another choice that would be close.

For many moons this ^^^^^ would have been my choice. Or more specifically I would have said Robert Plant so I get LZ & Plant’s solo stuff for a bit of variety.

But today I would have to say Dan Auerbach. Assuming I get all of the following: The Black Keys entire catalog, Auerbach’s 2 solo albums, The Arcs 2 albums, the BlakRoc album, the Barnburners EP, and all of the other songs on which he has played guitar/sung backup during collaborations.

I would have to go with Sublime, they’ve been my favorite band since I was 13 or so. 40 oz to Freedom, their Self-Titled album, and Robbin’ the Hood are all filled with bangers.

I know this is a bit of a different take, I am a Zepp head, love ACDC, Boston, The Who, etc.

But if I am going to be stranded I would need something more geared to meditation and stress relief.

The complete works of Mozart would offer that level of variety.

LInda Ronstadt in her prime.
I understand she is not a group.
But a barefoot Linda meets all of my desert island requirements.

If I had to take an album it would be Iron Maiden’s Powerslave.

If it were a band I’d probably take Black Sabbath or Motörhead + a lot of drugs and booze.

Interesting that NO ONE has chosen the Beatles
Agreed. I thought at least a few would think the Beatles were the obvious choice. IMO, a lot of their music sounds very much stuck in its own time. Great and very creative for that time but I don't think it's aged as well as early Stones (or Kinks), for instance. I mean, Sgt Peppers is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums of all time and I find it barely listenable. Magical Mystery Tour is even worse with the experimentation and throwaway ditties that I don't care for (all my opinion, of course). I don't really like Zep but I'd pick their catalog over the Beatles, at least I'd end up being a better guitar player. I'd also pick The Who's. Allmans. Not many later rock bands mentioned thus far. Thought we might have a U2 or Petty. Pretty diverse list.

Sloppy seconds from Jerry Brown, former Gov of CA? I don't think so. A complete smoke show in her prime, I'll grant you. Big voice, too. IIRC, she didn't write (or play?) anything - is that correct? Classic trivia question is who was her backup band for a while - the Eagles, at least most of the original core, before they went their own way.

It's not sloppy when you get past the used part.
