They were. I was posting a lot more frequently back then, and I remember how devastating losing recruits was during that time. Recruiting seemed like it was the key to breaking our "slump". We had such a hard time landing big guys back then. And there was lots of arguing on here about that, and how the current teams were performing. Before the Plumlee's (at this time Zoubek was barely playing) we had so many misses. I distinctly remember being crushed when we didn't land Greg Monroe, Patrick Patterson, and even Gregory Echenique.
For those who didn't experience it, our recruiting was much different back then. Personally, I think it was a transition period for coach; getting used to players not sticking around for 4 years.
I guess for me it was April of 06, although I feel like I starting posting here a little while before that. The first players I remember being recruited were Paulus, McRoberts, and that group.
