I will try to dumb it down for you.

Of course the staff worked hard. But that is what they do. If you put in the hard work you will be rewarded.

Again, Litespeed is suggesting Nebraska is not an easy place to recruit to. I disagreed. Nebraska has a lot going for it in terms of facilities, tradition, and fan support. Riley and company get that and have used it to their advantage. It's hard work, but when you put in the hard work, the recruiting becomes easier. Or, to put it another way, recruiting to Nebraska is not as hard as some people think.

Is the light bulb coming on? Did that help? Or are you just doing a classic Nikkisixx move and trying to be contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian? Trying to get under my skin? That's something you would do...
Well the last guy thought it was an easy place to recruit to. We all saw how that turned out. I didn't figure you to be a Boliever, so I'd just wish you would quit trying to argue his battles for him. He's fired and gone btw.

What the hell are you talking about? Bo and company always talked about how hard it was to recruit here.

I'd just wish you would quit trying to troll me...

Okay, but I just hope you don't think it is so easy that you can recruit from your car here. If we are in agreement on that, that's good enough for me.

Its good to hear your opinion; and the growth in the recruiting effort and the diversity of efforts show we are really getting it. I think you got Timnsun confused with someone else; I always look forward to his posts, level headed. Easy to do when things drag out and in this lull period; nice to have things to talk about.

Right now I don't think the next HC at Nebraska is on the current staff. Diaco is half crazy and laid a turd at his first HC stint. He'll have to prove alot to get a job as HC in major conference. Frost to Lincoln......possible - but timing will determine alot toward that actually happening. More likely Frost ends up in a major conference with a fat contract before Riley retires/is fired - pretty clear we don't get the checkbook out on coaching hires so no way we over pay to "get our guy". So who will be the next coach? My guess another proven HC at the D1 level - but we won't pay top dollar. Riley #2 type hire. Or Craig Bohl.

Diaco? Was the Jerry Kill OC agenda simply a convenient out for UConn to move on to a new/lowered paid head coach? Jerry Kill didn't make it to UConn (but it could have been a timing/salary thing for all I know). I could see another FBS program wanting to hire Diaco. He's young, Nebraska was a good spot for him to land on his feet and generate some good pub. I could see him looking for a new spot within 5 years.

I don't know how long Riley intends on staying in coaching. So, maintaining some modicum of success, Riley could be here as long as he wants. A rising tide lifts all boats, our level of success will influence the demand for our coaching staff. Are any on the staff looking to move up and out?

As far as NU is concerned. If we succeed at a high level, I would think Riley would want to continue. If we fail miserably, they'll all be gone.
