Has Iowa ever had a two-way player under Ferentz? Dejean would've done well in theory. Diaz was a hs dB, and literally broke up a likely interception against NIU. Impressive athlete. Honestly, I was disappointed coop never got a shot. Would've been a heavy load with running every punt back to boot. Fwiw, our dbs are salty enough that we don't need an upgrade. Just a fun what if. On many other teams, Diaz would get the chance, or not?

Why would they do that? Greater chance of injury, not to mention our secondary has a lot of talent.

We have never had trouble finding and coaching up DBs. What I think really needs to be tinkered with is DJV holding place kicks so he gets extra reps catching the ball.

I was literally lettering in college football when Woodson(not des) played so I missed a few of his games.

didn't they try Cooper DeJean on offensein practice for last couple games of the season and he ended up breaking a leg that way? would have been an interesting experiment, for sure.

Is that literal "letter" sewn onto the breast of your college letterman jacket too? Old timers like Nile Kinnick would be proud of you.

Seemed to work for Travis Hunter and Des Howard. As well as Colorado and Michigan. The game is played to be won. Pretty sure I addressed the quality of our secondary. Derp.
Colorado finished 9-4, Iowa is more than capable of that without needing one player on the field for 85% of the total snaps (no idea actual percentage for Hunter).

Guy is 180 with a bag of cement tied to His feet and is an absolute critical part of the Iowa offense to keep bodies out of the box for the run game and People want to expose Him to more contact on STs or more, Step away from the bongs

Not happening. But, I do believe he would be a CB if we had recruited him out of high school. Kirk likes to put the best guys on defense.

James looks like our next great return man. Vanderzee doesn't have the nads for it or the quickness. Surely the coaches can see this? Or not!

No. I think he has the stone but not the shiftiness. I will take him catching a 50-50 ball with anyone.
