Did you notice that when the volleyball brackets were posted that access to the rpi was unavailable? It will be interesting to see if it happens with football.

Hopefully they will release rpi"s Friday night after games r completed. Then creating a bracket should be pretty easy for 1a before they become official.

People will still be arguing over what constitutes a conference champion. For what it’s worth, a local head coach was told last week by the NCHSAA that split conferences will have two conference champions.

I would think that would just be for seeding purposes. For all other purposes, I would say there would/should still only be a single conference champ. If I was a player, a coach, or school admin, there's no way I would say I won a conference when I in fact did not finish first/tie for first (co-champ).

Well we have debated on that because they're rules aren't very clear but I noticed highschool ot was going that direction in their prediction. So maybe I was wrong but I've wanted a way to ask someone. Just wondering if the coach ask them because he was just as confused about it as we were.

Didn’t mean to imply it was for anything other than seeding purposes. Sorry if it came across that way.

Well in my reading of the rules I took it that a team not winning the conference outright but winning their classification in a split conference is an automatic qualifier and if unlike 1A were you have serval team so get in the playoffs that can be a big deal not having to compete with other wildcards to get in. But as for seeding I took it that they wouldn't be seeded first with overall conference champions but with everyone else.
I guess Saturday Lord willing I'll know for sure.

This is how it was done before this year so kinda makes me think it's how it will be done this only RPI instead of MaxPreps..
Old Highschool ot article....
First, all regular season conference champions (and top teams from split conferences) are seeded first by their MaxPreps rankings. All second-place automatic qualifiers are seeded next by their MaxPreps rankings. Then any third-place automatic qualifiers are seeded by their MaxPreps rankings.
