He played and at times he was actually stuffing the run. When Lamar Jackson got sacked by a linebacker / safety blitz (we had two men in on the sack) he was the third man in on the play in the backfield. He actually did good this week against Louisvilles offensive line.

ELAM should be an offensive lineman next year. Put his big *** on that damn line somewhere and help protect. He isn't a good nose tackle on defense.
He would better help as a Offensive Lineman.

You are correct LouievileKat. I thought he looked much improved out there. He was pushing the tard OL back and he was aggressive on the play you mentioned. He will play better as the DL gets more aggressive and more depth. Go Cats!!

Really sick and tired of the Elam bashing. It's not as if he's a senior and his career is over. He will get better. Having those extra practices for the bowl game should really help not only him, but the entire team to get better.

I think he will get better too, but any player that comes in ranked as high as he was is going to get criticism if he isn't starting in year two.

Bottom line is that he was not a consensus 5*. He was rated as a 3* by one, maybe more, services. We picked up on the one service that had him as 5* because we wanted to believe it and because we beat out Bama.
Some may say it's his fault, that he hasn't worked hard enough. I am not privy to how hard he works or if he was just overrated by one service. Regardless, not really something to criticize him for. He is usually right in the middle of all of the locker room celebrations, seems to LOVE playing for the Cats. That's enough for me.

Is he injured? I don't recall seeing him.
Elam played, but he is a backup. His starting job was taken by Pringle in October and that was a turnaround development for our defense. Elam has been dinged up all year, but that isn't how he lost the starting job.

^This, Elam played the best game of his career Saturday. I don't know how anyone can bash him for his play this week.
