Disappointed in KSR

I think OP's opinion was that he wishes "Kentucky Sports Radio" would stick to talking about Kentucky Sports. It's a valid opinion.

I don't go on ESPN.com to read politics (mainly to read about Duke love). They can clearly do what they want at KSR, no one is arguing that, it would be nice however if they stuck to talking about sports which is what got them there. (Clearly they know it's out of place over there which why they disabled comments so they wouldn't get the negative comments about why on earth it was on there.)
Matt has always said that he patterns his website and show after Tony Kornheiser and anyone who has ever listened or followed Kornheiser would know that while his show is sports-centric, it also dabbles in everything else. There is plenty of sports talk out there and if you want sports, sports and nothing but sports then those are the programs that would better fit your needs.
Matt and I might add Clay Travis have been super successful at what they do and both Matt and Clay expand their subject matter to reach beyond just the sports world. So for you or anyone to proclaim that they should stick to one thing... I think they will stick to their judgement which has likely served them better in life than what yours has done for you. Matt has a top rated show doing what he is doing. Why would he change?

Matt can ok anything he wants to to go on his site. I just said the site should stick to sports topics because they look pretty stupid posting crap like that. If I want to get slanted political views I will watch any of the major network news channels, but I like to see sports when I go on a sports website.

I guess with all his success MJ/his site can really let some True Colors fly. I expect there'll be a Prez endorsement in the future.

Funny how these things almost always seem to go in one direction... Libs getting their talking points into a shouldn't-be-any-politics zone. Like-minded types usually don't mind the propaganda, obviously, but boy-o-boy on the rare occasion it might go against their grain... Look Out!!!

Once you know it's going that way, you can avoid it (see: Saturday Night Liberals Live)... but I can see how you'd be disappointed with that somewhat unexpected slant on a "sports" page.

To be fair, the post did mention sports/tie in sports. Honestly the whole premise of banning Muslims from the USA is so ridiculous I'm not sure how anyone can take it serious enough to feel the need to post about it on a primarily sports related site, despite tying it into sports...but that is another dicussion for another day. He can post whatever he wants on there, and people can choose to read it or not. I agree with others.

I assume you're talking about Saturday Might Live? And I totally agree with you about them. And they have such a great cast this year. But damn, they were so biased this week, it was ridiculous. They might as well have a skit about all republicans as kkk members.

Yeah, they were in full-on DNC-support mode on that one. An overflowing supply of bashing WBush /R candidates/Fox News... but nothing at Hellary's expense, of course, and even implied that women's knickers are still getting wet over the vision of Obuma, somehow. They just can't help themselves.

You're right, though... this is a decent cast. Too bad they have orders to ignore the massive stockpile of humor that the Lib-Dem Circus provides.

Anyone who has watched SNL over their 40+ year life understands that they take shots at all politicians regardless of party. And FYI...most candidates dream of being the subject of satire by the SNL crew...regardless of cast. That is why most all come and appear on the show at one time or another.

Yeah, they SOMETIMES take shots at all politicians but if you've watched this season especially, they have been almost exclusively negative towards republicans. This past week was especially egregious!

Pure nonsense as it relates to the actual amounts and how hard they are on the respective sides. Even vets such as Lovitz and Carvey have commented on this.

And there is this:

Republicans are easier for us than Democrats. Democrats tend to take it personally; Republicans think it’s funny. - Lorne Michaels, via Vulture

Perhaps that is because they give them so much material with which to work.
Really, if you're offended by SNL humor then you really need to grow up because the candidates themselves "get it" and laugh...and have their agents call the show to see if they can get an appearance.

Well, that USED TO BE somewhat true... but, for the most part, everyone can plainly see that Obuma has been protected for the last 8 years, rather than ridiculed. In the old days, Kenan would've been wearing a dress to portray M.O. in a skit... since there were no Black Female cast members.

Even Hellary is getting cover, right now. The only reason she doesn't get the complete slurp-job is that they already have the stack of established skits (from Slick Willie's time) in their history. They'd go back and erase all of that material, if they could.

You just got to shake your head at fuzz because you know he truly believes there is no bias or material for them to use on libs.

Obama has been given a complete pass and fawned over. It's the complete opposite of how they treated Bush.

Fey and Myers are brilliant writers but in their tenures as leading SNL they put BO off limits. I have heard both interviewed recently on Stern and they are very staunch in their support of the Dem party and said he was too cool to make fun of.

I know for a FACT that Matt Jones tried for years to be a moderator on this board with the sole intention of monitoring and influencing the Political Board. Had nothing to do with Sports, (even though this is supposed to be a Sports forum.) Many of the current moderators aren't even aware of this and the ones who know will never acknowledge it.

Three of his longstanding KSR sponsors have direct ties to Al Jazeera. Another recently went away when the FBI started looking at their internal funding and where some of their money was being spent. That's why I never go to his website.

Those same sponsors talked him out of his run for Congress against Andy Barr, too. They're thinking he's the guy to take McConnell's seat in 5 years if they bide their time.

This isn't a political post, but rather a post about how sports sites should keep out of politicos.

I am one of the first posters to support KSR when they are wrongly criticized in my opinion, but the article from Jonathan Miller that has been posted on their site further proves that everything in today's world has to try and prove a political point.

KSR should stick to sports coverage in the way that they always have and everyone other than Matt needs to keep the politico crap to themselves.

For the record I am a Republican and disagree with Trump, but this thread doesn't need to turn into a political discussion.
ya know... i kind'a thought the same thing when I read it.. but that's KSR/MJ and it is what it is... politics as sport

I thought this was kinda funny: if you look at Shannon the Dude's Twitter, he has a pic from the KSR christmas party - all white dudes.

Not too diverse for a liberal champion like Jones

(Personally, I could care less either way, but thought it was funny)

Thought it was weird that the Dems are putting forth the wife of Slick Willie (who is being investigated by the FBI) and the crazy old man who sounds like the aardvark from Pink Panther as viable candidates but SNL goes after the Republicans.

It would be so easy to make fun of Obama right now. But they're probably afraid no one "cool" will host their show if they do.

That you would notice something like that and think it important, says a lot about what's wrong with this country. Smh

It's okay for liberals to notice such things, in fact it's encouraged. It's even encouraged for white people to pretend to be black people, men to pretend to be women, yadda yadda yadda. But if a conservative notices something....RACISM!!!

No, YOU are what's wrong with this country. Your double standards need to go.

Just to be clear… Is the article that talks about how Enes Kanter wouldn't have been allowed to come to UK at all if there was a Muslim Ban like Trump is calling for the one the OP is crying about?

I don't believe that for a minute without some type evidence. You're the same guy that doesn't watch "60 Minutes", because you think they fabricate and lie about all their stories. You're the same guy that has allegedly been in several plane mishaps also. You're the same guy that I think is full of ****.

don't read KSR anymore, pointless in the instant social media age we live in with the twitter dot com. certainly not motivated to go there and read this article or blog that motivated this thread.

but if true, pretty nutless of Jones to do this but then switch off comments. if you are doing something that is going to receive a pretty significant backlash then don't do it; jamming your fingers into your ears & covering your eyes is the act of a coward without principle or guts or honor.

Sighhhhh back atcha. I get it . You were saying its a lib thing.

It's a lib thing to see a bunch of white guys that echo what you say/think and pretend you are diverse. Much like how diverse the Democratic presidential hopefuls are. The Dems are the biggest plantation party ever conceived. Whites comprise a third of its membership and yet are the face and leadership of the party. They need some affirmative action up in there.

Ok, so I made it up....completely made up the Matt Jones accusation. Figured with all the dimwits on there that no one would be smart enough to catch it. You did---so I guess I underestimated the sheep reading this message board. At least there is one person on here with enough intelligence to pick up on my BS.

Thought it was common knowledge that KSR supports ISIS. Therefore, if you go to the KSR website you also support ISIS.
