And just think of the teams we have played that have putrid offenses.
I usually hate to be a I told you so guy. But I was saying he should have been fired after the UL game last year and was ******* on by some people. I guess I wasn't so stupid after all.

He should have been fired after last year but there were many on here defending him last year. He is awful. He has been awful since he got here. But nothing will happen and nothing will change. SEC teams will absolutely crush UK. The Bama game should not be televised. It will be unfit to watch.

Hey dont point your finger at me. I thought he should go along with Scharlman and Brumbaugh as well. I was hoping him coaching olb would improve things but its the Identicle D from the past three seasons. It's the whole scheme of our defense it sucks balls bad

look in the thread about Coach Scharlman getting an extension. those who are singing his Praises are the same ones who sing the Praises of Coach Eliot, brumbaugh and the rest. They are the idiots

I would take Steve Brown over him. He brings nothing other than being friends with Stoops.
While i would agree that elliott is worthless, i think our issues are much deeper than elliott. A fish is rotten from the head down and the issue begins and ends with stoops. Absolutely no adjustments and to many poor coaching decisions. Guy just isnt a head coach. Cut the losses and get rid of him at years end

Nobody has been on Eliots *** more than @TrollCat hes relentless in exposing his terrible coaching.

I am just a tired fan. I am so tired of watching putrid football year after year I am getting older and tired of it.I am tired of having to question the coaching staff and their terrible decisions. And try to convince others that there is something wrong and they think everything is hunky-dory.

Nah, I'm more scared of the Louisville game. Saban never scores more than 59. Louisville might hang 100. Lamar Jackson might get 1000 yards on us.

People gave you flack for that opinion? I lost faith in Eliot when it was apparent that even after working together for years he and Stoops were scrambling around on the sidelines looking as lost as lost gets while we were on defends. They're never on the same page.

Yup they did. I tried to find the thread I made saying he should be fired but for some reason I can't find it. I remember people telling me its a talent issue and other BS excuses. I wish I could find it and bump it.

It's been more than clear that he's not a high level DC. When Urban Meyer was at UF he said he liked game planning against Steve Brown's defense because it was a vanilla scheme. I'd love to go back to that because we at least had a scheme. I'm not sure what Stoops and Eliot are trying to accomplish on defense. I've never seen a team take more timeouts on defense than UK does. That's not a talent issue.

It's always the same song different verse with these defensive gurus. Light the world on fire for a half, collapse the rest of the way. Start the season 5-1, collapse the rest of the way.

I've said it time after time. Teams are a reflection of their head coach.

Stoops is emotional. He's up and down like a roller coaster and our team (and season) reflects that.

He thinks you can win on emotion and talent alone. What he doesn't realize is that he's not at Miami or FSU anymore where you can be undisciplined and beat teams with sheer talent. You actually have to COACH and DEVELOP players and MAKE IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS.

I know sooner or later we'll start hearing about how Stoops needs more time from some of our experts on here. Please tell me how more time and recruiting is going to fix the way our front seven got absolutely manhandled by a C-USA offensive line tonight. Your little arguments about more time for recruiting don't really hold much water there, do they? When is the last time Southern Miss out recruited us? How many times has Louisville out recruited us in the last ten years? Do you honestly think that "recruiting" was the difference in the game tonight? I would venture to say there aren't five players on the entire Southern Miss roster that were rated higher than the guy opposite them on the UK side.

Guess what? COACHING AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS RECRUITING.

I agree. Eliot and Stoops couldn't coach the Steel Curtain or 85 Bears to a good defense. Its not talent, its that they have no idea what they are doing. USM essentially ran the same running play the entire game and we didn't stop it one time.

No way he should survive this. UL ran the same read option all half with no adjustment, killing us.

Then usm did the same thing with their power run game/trap. Also killed us.

How can a coordinator at this level take an entire half to adjust?

It's not getting better. If usm ran over us, imagine what the rest of the squads will do

The only thing Stoops has going for him in college football is his last name. He has not shown me a damn thing since he has been at UK. Please stop with all of the talk about him being a defensive coach, he is far from that. In the last 24 games, Kentucky’s defense has surrendered 400 or more yards 14 times. Seven times, it’s 500 plus. That is not going to win you many games. He is not bringing in the top players and the players he is getting him and his coaching staff are not developing them. He is in his 4th year and our defensive line is worse than atrocious. That goes back to recruiting. We should have at least 3-4 studs on the D-Line that are Juniors or Seniors. What do we have in the middle, an over rated, over hyped, player that is 6'7 360 pounds who gives us nothing. If he had gone to Alabama, he would be filling up the water bottles for the other players on defense. There is no way on this earth he would have played for Saban. People were upset that Reggie Meant left, so what, it wasn't like he was going to make a difference in the middle of the line. He was just going to another player that would get plastered and abused on the line. If he was worth his weight, he would not have been at UK in the first place.

I was not surprised when Damien Harris, J. Willis and the young QB, whose name escapes me at the time, went there and are going there. What top rated player would want to come to UK and be a part of this train wreck of a football program? I am 59 yrs old and after last night, I have resigned myself to the fact that UK will not be good in FB at any time in the near or distant future. The UL FB program and the UK FB program are so far apart it is nothing short of embarrassing. Every day, I pick up the paper in Louisville, I read where they received a commitment from another 4 star player. I would bet UL has players waiting their turn that would be starters at UK. No offense to linebacker, Courtney Love who seems to be a pretty good dude, but when you start the season with a transfer, who has not played one second of FB for your team and he is being touted as the leader on defense, there is a problem. I was impressed with Jordan Jones last night, 19 tackles w/13 solos, that is getting it done. However, other than the hit he laid on Mullens in the first half, I don't recall Denzil Ware's name being called. This defense needs to get better in a hurry or they will get punked each and every game. Nick Chubbs will run for 200 yards in the first half and Alabama could leave their first and seconds unit in the dorm and still run all over our defense.
