Doubling down on a terrible take...love it!

You’d rank him over any of those other players? It’s a subjective thing on a fricking message board so I’ll quadruple down if necessary. In my book his attitude and mindset have kept him out of the GOAT discussion.

You said he “wasn’t an all time great”. That’s bad, very bad.

Third in a three way race ain’t great either. I’ll stand by what I said.

Would you rank him higher than Sampras, Federer, Nadal? Bjorg? Connors? I’d say his mindset and attitude has kept him out of the top tier.

Agree with others - your take is just so awful. While Joker is certainly not my favorite of all time and has had times where he's acted the fool, he's a GREAT tennis player who will most likely end up with the most GS wins when he retires. To hold his attitude against him when you include Jimmy Connors is laughably absurd. Personally, at his best, I think Fed is the GOAT with Rafa, Joker and Borg close behind (remember, Borg retired at, what, 26 or 27 - who knows how many more GS he could have won playing only 5 more years). Rafa's career has been amazing but most of his GS came at the French where he's the undisputed GOAT. Joker is better than Fed on clay.

Sampras was great, too. Not sure his game would translate that well today as most pros are baseline first and come to the net to finish a point. Almost no one serves and volleys anymore like PS.

However you rank them, DJ would have to be top 7 all-time. I almost forgot how dominant Laver was, even missing several years when in his primes. He very easily could have had 15+ GS had he been allowed to play for 5 years. Joker's an all-timer regardless of his attitude.

He’s playing in the same era as Federer and Nadal. He’s three back of Federer and two back of Nadal. He has three more than Sampras, six more than Bjorg, and nine more than Connors.
Maybe you can say he wasn’t as impactful, but the fact he’s doing this at the same time two other greats are doing their thing, well, it puts him at probably third best of all time.

Give Jimmy Connors credit. He played in a time where one of the 4 majors (the Australian) was a minor tournament across the world and so he skipped it all but 2 years. He also was banned from another major for arguably his 5 best years (the French) because he was playing for a rival tennis league when the sport of tennis was in a huge state of flux.

Overall, total slam count wasn’t this gigantic thing until Sampras was passing Tilden. Same with career grand slam and Andre Agassi getting it. So pause with the dismissals of past tennis greats by standards they weren’t measuring themselves by, when the sport is standing on their shoulders.
