I don't think everyone does get it. As I said, I'm well aware that fandom comes in all shapes and forms. I don't have a problem with people choosing to be positive or not wanting others to be negative about the program. I might not agree with that, but fine...different strokes for different folks.

It's the constant mental gymnastics trying to justify the bad product, bordering on lying, that I don't agree with. I actually think that does hurt the program. I also don't mind posters pointing out issues with Rhule or the program. It's the Pavlovian need for some to jump into every thread about Rhule and the program to rehash the same old shite that's been worn out for some time. Why? It's not like those posters come up with an original thought. Well, sometimes they do, and I find those points interesting regardless whether I agree with them or not, but those moments are exceedingly rare.

I think he is kinda right.. like most things in this world, the truth is usually the opposite of what the herd believes is true.

A lot of people supported Scott Frost long long long after it was evident that they needed to make a change. The fans and players had to endure another 2 years of setbacks because enough fans kept supporting Scott. If you look at it in that lens, the unwarranted support did lead to more and deeper failure.

Unless Matt catches lightning in a bottle, which is possible, he'll be canned in 2 more years, if he doesn't leave first. I was positive he wanted out of here this year and am very surprised he didn't take that Penn State job when it first opened up.
