Now them coaches up shaking in their boots because yall was worried about recruiting now he can and yall can't do nothing
People speak on the situation as if he was over at Herndon or Annandale or Westfield, etc recruiting their kids. Not one leaked DM from a coach “recruiting” a player from another school. He’s got free range now. NoVA football is very bleh as a whole. There’s good football up there, it’s just few and far between who can compete with the 804 and 757 powers.

Realistically how long do you think it will take for them to field a team? And will they join a private league or stay independent? Not a fan of privates but I gotta admit I would like to see Overton build something nice and legit with this.
You gotta think most of that Hayfield team follows him plus all the kids he has in his youth league program. St. Michael’s really just hopped on the scene and played basically anyone.

Another Create-A-Team. Reminds me of all the Dad AAU Baseball Teams that started popping up in the late 1990s when their sons couldn't play for the main team.

Not saying that Overton has a son. But my analogy is that we are seeing these specialized teams pop up in supposed educational structures which have zero value. "The St. James", Life Christian, Virginia Jaguars mist to name a few.

The VHSL (or whoever is in charge since it's all a mess these days) should draw a line in the sand and state that games against these types of schools will not be counted towards postseason consideration.

St. James is an $100+ million dollar facility. Bad take. Only thing in VA comparable to the facilities is Liberty University. Life Christian, St. Michael’s, VA Academy, etc isn’t even comparable my man.

They had no football team. That's why I never heard of them.
The "performance academy" is a new venture for them, it's a giant sports complex. They have an indoor football field where they have hosted high school games in the past. Making a "high school" football program sustainable will be a tough ask IMO. You could go to a WCAC school for the same sticker price.

Sticker price is going to be the interesting thing, moving high schools is one thing, moving to a private is different. Good for him, now he can recruit all he wants. I just want whoever that is wherever to follow the rules within their given profession.
