Do we miss Cal yet?

I don’t miss Cal. I miss having talent. Cal isn’t the only coach who can bring in talent.

I’m a UK fan not an NBA fan, I follow UK basketball because I enjoy college basketball, and I don’t give a rat’s azz about first round picks.

That’s a very generous re-write. Early Cal was magical like vintage Pitino. Later Cal was an insufferable jerk who developed the odd perspective that he didn’t owe UK anything and appeared to want to agitate everyone around the program—just because he could.
I’m among those who don’t care about who plays in the NBA. It’s along the same lines as those of us who don’t care for the WNBA.
I hate Cal so that would be a big ******* NOOOOOOOO from me. Those last 5 years of his tenure are still burning through me.......
Who would you have hired? We were turned down by a few coaches before Pope hit the list.
Evansville , Robert Morris, Richmond, UNC Wilmington, and boy does that 9-16 season still stick out like a sore thumb that it is.....
Cal was the same person then as he was when he left. The difference was winning. We tolerate behavior until it infringes on our enjoyment. We were not winning, thus we were not enjoying him any longer.
True for the most part. At the beginning Cal wanted to win to shut people up. He was always very egotistical but coaches that win at the highest level and are not are basically unicorns. Cal beginning was nowhere near as openly hostile.
I would always tell people at work you can be an ******* so long as you produce but the minute you dont produce everyone will turn on you.
You know the first 7 years of his tenure was unbelievable no doubt......After that 2015 season ( it broke him when he didn't go undefeated) he really went to **** he had one more half way decent season and he never recovered, the 2019-2024 seasons there really wasn't nothing exciting about none of those seasons. I just hate the guy because he stayed to long and milked it for way to much and took the program down with him.... He never ever was about UK he was always about Cal and those last 5 seasons all of that stood out because he wasn't winning anymore....
