Tommy makes plays with his feet that no other qb we currently have can make. Just sayin. We were 7- 0 for a reason.....

I think Langsdorf has done a pretty good job this year. But he dropped the ball in OT last night despite what the he can do no wrong crowd will proclaim.
I'm not saying he is infallible, He could have done some things better, I would have liked to see more screens last night. This entire Offense is based on getting in a rhythm, using a lot of misdirection and keeping the defense guessing with motion and running different plays that look very similar to one another. However If you cannot complete basic passes and get 4 to 5 yards on the ground consistently, that won't happen. However, given our Offense's situation (atrocious depth in O Line, Mediocre QB) the fact that we continue to find a way put up points and keep our team in games is a HUGE accomplishment by Langsdorf. This Offense could easily be as bad as the 2009 Offense without him.

We lost, but that doesn't mean the ship has sunk. We should be able to win 9 or more games not counting a chance for a bowl victory.

He is? He hasn't improved Armstrong's quarterbacking and he's not a good play caller. Riley should have hired a better OC and needs to take over the play calling from Langsdorf.

On a good note, Banker has been surprisingly good this year, however, we need an upgrade over Read and Langsdorf.

I truly believe Armstrong is what he is, and if he can't control himself to have good mechanics in the heat of battle over 4 years. We should just be resigned to the fact that for every brilliant throw there will be an equal WTF throw.

Has Riley ever taken over calling Special Teams plays at Oregon State?

Anybody who thinks we should bench Tommy is so stupid it almost doesn't bear replying to. And no, I will not accept next week as a loss. Sounds like you are just yet another poster who loves being negative and pessimisitic. Yea-just what we need more of here.

I don't know if we'll win next week, but to suggest benching TA is the most ridiculous thing that I've ever read on this board. I do think that we should roll him out more often than having him throw from the pocket, but benching him is just a ridiculous suggestion.

I have grumbles with the play calling at times, but my concerns about our coaching staff have been for the most part laid to rest. Despite the loss, I'm as proud of all of them as I could be. And the players have completely bought in and are playing their hearts out for these coaches. So nice to have respected coaches as the face of our program.

Tommy is our QB for the simple reason that there is no one better on our team that is eligible to play ... that doesn't make him an above average QB

in conference play we are getting a 52% completion rate - 4 TD passes and 6 INTs

with all else being equal I was hoping the play of our 4th year starter would trump the play of their freshman ... but in the end both teams got freshman quality QB play

"But in the end both teams got freshman quality QB play".
I would say that last sentence is both a fair and somewhat sad assessment.

I suggest you show some sort of proof. If he is such a fantastic coach, why has our offense been in the toilet for over a month? I don't want to hear excuses. Look at our D. They don't give a bunch of excuses, they find ways to overcome their problems and get better. Danny needs to own it. Maybe it is You, who needs to do some learning and reflection before you go spouting off about how fantastic our offensive coordinator is.

You're an idiot

Offense has been bad for 3 weeks now. Tommy still just likes to chuck it and pray too many times, or misses easy, short passes. The loss today is squarely on his shoulders. Yes, we struggled to run the ball at times but what do you expect against a team daring us to run? The things that stopped our drives were batted balls, bad passes and dumb throws that led to 2 turnovers. Twice, we had chances on offense to win the game despite the struggles, but couldn't move the ball before end of regulation or in OT.

I don't want to hear about PI. Was it PI? Yes, without a doubt. However, Westy was covered by 3 guys and the ball had no business going there, don't expect a bailout when it's questionable how much there was even contact. He starts slowing down before he gets close to the Wisconsin LB. You will never get a call in those situations.

Play calling is still part of the problem. I don't understand the love of putting Tommy in deep pocket pass plays. Why is it so hard to get some screen plays to Newby, a great receiving back, with the amount of blitzing they did? He finished with only one reception, on a dump off that was covered. The OC should hang his head in shame. If our offense is put to shame again against Ohio St. it's time to bench Tommy. I don't care what his career numbers are. His QBR was 21 against Wisc, 39 against Indiana and 77 against Purdue. The sad thing is, he's a FREAKING SENIOR WITH 4 YEARS OF STARTING EXPERIENCE AND HE PLAYS LIKE A FRESHMAN.

I'd rather start preparing for the future instead of wasting more time on this guy.

Lets be honest. We struggled against Indiana and Purdue (even Penn St. dropped 62 on them today). Minnesota and Iowa are both much better them.

Next week is a loss, and puts us at 7-2. Do we go at least 2-1 after that?
You posed the question, why don't you tell us what you think?

The first INT TA threw was not good (50/50 ball) - the 2nd was a bad read - but not a bad throw. He protected the ball well the rest of the game. He just was not as efficient as we needed - yes he missed throws but he also was under pressure. He looked hurt part of the game as well which contributed to the poor throws. This Oline is holding back the offense more than TA - although our WRs got owned by Wisky for large chunks of the game (outside of Morgan - he played great). I don't blame Westy - still recovering. Moore looked like a scared kid out there and Riley was not much better. RBs got dinged up again - both Newby and Oz could not go at times and Wilbon did not look sharp.

Need to add another option: Already bet on over 8.5 wins and need 2 more to cash in! Still optimistic, but the path would have been a lot easier had we punched in a score vs. Wisconsin.
