Apathy is the antithesis of passion. Why expend energy on a has-been? I will save my boos for the SEC refs.

No we as BBN have class and respect our past. Cal deserves credit for his first 10 years and helping our community. Most knew he would leave our pantry bare when he left. Slam me all you want, but I'm not going anywhere.
That's cool, but a day will come where we celebrate Cal. That day is not Saturday, I'm not saying fans have to boo him but why would any fan cheer for a coach of an opposing team? His goal is to come into Rupp and beat our team, so cheering for him is the dumbest thing anyone can do.

There were certainly a lot of UK fans booing Pitino and he did not put the fan base thru several miserable years before he left.

Maybe because he won 1 of 8 national championships in our entire history? I don’t care if people boo or cheer, but to act like there isn’t a reason for people to cheer is off base imo.

I'd do a golf clap, I along with everybody else hated his last 5 or so years but I also remember where we were at as a program when he took over and the good he did, hate the way it ended but can't forget the fun ride we had with him here.

Won’t be at the game but I wouldn’t boo him. I do appreciate the good years. Loath the bad. But he did give us some really exciting times and did a lot for the state. With that said I never really cared for him. You could always tell one of two things would happen. Leave us for probably NBA or have himself run out of town. Just knew it would end on a bad note however it went down.
Heck may even try some reverse psychology and applaud him. I think applauding him might piss him off a bit on the inside.

Before the game? No way. However things ended in Lexington he did too much good for me to feel comfortable booing him.

If he does something during the game that’s worthy of a technical or etc? Absolutely. He should get booed like any other coach would in that situation. He is the opposing coach. He is our mortal enemy between tipoff and final whistle.

I would not boo but sit there silently as CCC and the former players are introduced. Using my energy to give the best coach in the country and players that came to UK to play for Kentucky and not themselves, a rousing ovation.

Nah. The man won a championship here, and frankly did us a huge favor when he screwed around and punched his ticket to Arkansas without us having to pay him to leave. The alternative is he would still be here, and we wouldn’t have the massive breath of fresh air that Pope is for our program. Just basically ignore just like we do with just about all opposing coaches when their teams come to Rupp and move on.

No, he won a championship, got paid big (bad contract), got lazy, and moved on. I am glad he is gone, but he was here for 15 years and for a while revitalized the fan base until he got too full of himself.

You left out the part where he tried to actually get more cash for himself by using the Arkansas offer as leverage. You also left out the part where he sat with Mitch and said he’d be back and wanted support, then two days later was meeting with Arkansas? Also, left out the other parts:
- talking about the fans like we were stupid hillbillies
- playing the wrong line up intentionally for TWO FULL SEASONS, to the detriment of the program
- prioritizing his agenda over the programs at every turn

Yeah, he won a title, and we paid him lots of millions for it. Doesn’t mean I have to kiss his *** forever. Give it 20 like with Rick and I’ll be ready to applaud for him.

Didn't say I would cheer for him. But I respect him as a man for what he accomplished here.
