Most of the 1950's can be found on ebay fairly frequently. The 1940's are a bit more difficult. Doubt if I will ever have a complete set, simply because I don't want to spend the $3,000-4,000 that a couple of those 1940's glasses usually go for.
Did you give up collecting pounds?
I used to collect comic books, but stopped buying years ago. Still have them stored in boxes, and I plan to sort through and keep my favorites, one of these days.
My claim to fame is that I once held one of these in my hands:

Woah, I had no idea some were worth that much. The wife and I had pre-derby brunch this year and only used glasses from the 40's-60's for juleps. We thought that they were a neat touch. I guess we need to put those away for safe keeping.

My future Man Cave will have a UK theme, of course, but at the bar area I want to display some nice breweriana. For that reason, I've picked up a few Hamm's items, including one of these:

This was 25 years ago, and it had a fold mark down the center of it, unfortunately... but the guy sent it to one of the big auction houses and got almost 30K for it.
I wonder what it'd go for now? It's said there are maybe 100 copies known to exist, but less than 10 of them are graded in a condition to get the superbuck$ from collectors. One of the best sold for 3.2 million on Ebay about 2 years ago.
1938, 1940, and the war years are about the only ones that command big money. Most everything from the late 1940's present are relatively cheap ($200 or less for the 50's, way, way cheaper from 1960-present).
I collect Z's user names. I know I'll never be able to acquire all of them but it's fun trying.
Speaking of Z, he's been absent for awhile now. It's odd that he and LEK disappeared at the same time.....hmm
