DGS has become real bad real fast since John Belskis' departure. Too many wacky gimmicks being played with instead of good fundamental football that is appropriate for high school talent. The head scratching part is many of the assistants are the same, guess they needed Belskis to reign in the BS.

Isn't Martin O'Donnell a CPA? I remember the surprise when he was named 1st team All American yet chose to bypass the draft to concentrate on his career. Man, he was dominant for the Illini that Rose Bowl year.
I dont know what he does, but if its a CPA thats perfect. What do they even do between june and april?
I don't know about Belskis "seeing it coming." That last year they were using Benet's cast-off QB that could hardly hold the football in his hand and there might have been a bit of a mail-it-in factor but all the talent dried up in south Downers Grove and Woodridge - I doubt it. No, I suspect there are little things not being done like hounding guys into the weight room and making sure 8th graders know they are wanted next year at the high school, ok recruiting, call it what you want.
Have the downers south youth programs started gravitating towards montini with all of their success? That has to be an issue.
