I gotta admit I'm a little worried about this hire. Seems like a roll of the dice at a position WVU can not afford a setback, especially in this conference. Hopefully I'm wrong but it is definitely not a home run hire IMO.

You'd typically reply to a thread like this one with, .....'If you're so smart why are you not the guy doing the hiring?'.

Seems silly, right ?

Major hook seems to be his Florida connection.

WVU is looking for another Doc Holliday recruiter shipping Florida superstars to Morgantown by the boxcars.

As with everything in sports and life, looking in the rear-view mirror is 20/20 vision.

I'm more concerned with the 2016 W-L record. WVU needs to be at TCU's level and soon.

He appears to have a very solid background and the experience to be a good defensive backs coach. IMO "On paper" he is a good choice/hire. This spring and ensuing season will be very telling in regards to ascertaining his recruiting/coaching capabilities.

Holgs and Gibson seems to do well hiring staff... I trust em! You can bet they looked at this from a lot of different angles.Gibson needs a recruiter with some energy and a FL / NFL story....I think he got one.

This is a much better hire than I would have expected, given the fact DH has both his hands tied behind his back by Lyons. Who was going to leave a current job for a 10 month contract where the head coach is a dead man walking. Is it a home run? No, but it is a good hire. I was concerned DH, would have to leave current Grad CB coach in charge.
