Fans didn’t hire the coach but fans also were too good for Scott Drew.

I’m convinced Mitch was only going to interview coaches he deemed morally good enough after the swimming coach scandal made him look bad. He was also tired of Cal not listening to him and preferred a yes man.

Cal had to go. Right now he's laughing his *** off at the entire state of Kentucky. The problem is Barnhart. Mitch just ****** up another hire when the opportunity was there to make it right. Time to fire his *** for the horse **** contracts he keeps handing out left and right.

Can you please move on? She doesn't love you any more. Sure the passion was great early on, but there is no love left. She's with another guy now and only thinks about you to enjoy some schadenfreude from time to time. Look, there are other women out there. You're still a catch! Go out there and find someone who will love you for you and what you bring now, now for what once was.

(Not directed at the OP, but pointed at the constant pining for a washed up coach.)

Nope.

I love Cal for what he did here his first 10 years, but his back half was not much better—and sometimes worse—than what we're seeing now.

I was ready for him to leave and don't want him to come back to coach. I don't, however, hate the man like many seem to.

It was Cal that decided it was time to go, both through action and results. So that wasn’t going to work any longer.
But this is obviously a disaster and won’t take another five years to see the writing on the wall.

Cal should’ve retired and remained with the program. Hell, I’d take him as an AD right now. But as our coach? The man was well past his prime.

No, his time had run its course at UK. He's doing well at Arkansas right now but it won't lasts there either. We need someone new with a proven background that wants to make his mark at the highest level, which is still Kentucky, believe it or not. I was hoping Pope might be the guy with his energy and love for the school but he is failing badly right now. Just maybe too nice of a guy and has lost respect of his players. I don't know who is the answer for what we need but it appears now that Pope isn't that guy.

No he had to go .

And if Pope keeps it up so will he
How many hires do we have to make that don't work out in the future before the fan base accepts it's not the coach?

You think all these sources you go to for info on the program are going to come out and tell you the glory days aren't coming back? Their careers are only justified by your engagement in this program. Stop expecting honestly from them. You aren't ever getting it.

Cal should still be here. The fact that he’s not is his own fault. He had driven a wedge between himself and everyone that mattered. It’s what led to him losing

I was sitting at my desk at home around 10 pm that night we found out pope was gonna be the guy. I felt sick to my stomach. I was immediately more mad at Cal in that moment than ever before. Our grass would not get greener and I knew it. I thought we would hire Pearl or oats or Drew and I was gonna be ok with that. So my final
Feelings about cal would depend on who we hired as his replacement. Guys like Cal they always get the last laugh and good guys really do finish last

I don’t miss Cal, but I miss his players. We don’t have any of the caliber of players he had in his rosters. This is such a soft roster.
