The Night Stalker was a complete lunatic. He would break in and rape everything in the house. Wife, grandmother, men, women, kids, pets, goldfish... one lady said that wasn't even enough because he started rubbing one out right there in the kitchen, too. He was like Hannible Lector's cell neighbor hopping around all over the place pounding them out.

The Night Stalker was excellent!

It had details about him that if never heard before.

*Spoilers*

I wasn't aware he raped children and he killed way more people than I realized.

My wife and I love that the neighborhood folks caught him and kicked his as a little.

I think he said that they would not have done that if he had a gun. Duh.

“ESPN 30/30 - ‘Of Miracles and Men’ “

Starts with the amazing upset the US pulled over the Soviets in the 1980 Winter Olympics- then goes in to profile the Soviet players involved and the unique history of how hockey came to be in the USSR

You don’t have to like hockey to appreciate this one - highly recommended
It is one of the very best 30 for 30 episodes

Not sure this qualifies but I really like the old Top Gear UK version with Clarkson, Hammond and May. Amazon Prime has several seasons free.

Night stalker doc on netflix is good. Doesn’t really go into his character or motives but it shows how the police caught him.

Just started Night Stalker last night on Netflix. Two episodes in — out of four. Great stuff.
Great series.

A friend of mine is also named Richard Ramirez and was a teenager/early twenties when all this was going on and grew up in LA. I’ve been meaning to ask him if he was one of the 8 Richard Ramirez’s they had finger prints for.

The one big one of his I have not watched is Baseball, just have not gotten to it.
It's great. It's about when I cared about baseball and when my dad & grandpa did. Grandpa played for the Twelve Mile (KY) All-Stars around 1900. He really hit the big-time! Took me to Reds Opening Day Game at Crosley in 1963 at age 82 - him, not me.

In several episodes, he uses Negro Leagues player Buck O'Neil as a commentator. He was excellent. Played mainly for KC Monarchs. The reason I bring this up is that shortly after I watched the series - when it first came out - was coming home from a business trip to KC & walked down the plane aisle. Mr. O'Neil was sitting there and I got excited. I shook his hand and told him what a great job he'd done. Was really surprised. Don't think he was used to being a recognized celebrity. Made my week.

Agree
If you enjoy docs on the cold war, here are 3, I have watched recently on Prime :
`The Soyuz Conspiracy 50min 2011
Narrated by Elliott Gould. Includes secret film footage never seen until now. After 15 years of research, filmmakers have discovered brand-new evidence that reveals a scandalous conspiracy surrounding the death of one of the old Soviet Union's most famous cosmonauts, Colonel Vladimir Komarov.

Azorian: The Raising of the K-129 2011
In 1968 the Soviet ballistic missile submarine K-129 sank in the Central North Pacific. American intelligence located it within weeks of its demise. The CIA crafted a secret program to raise the submarine in 1974.

Kursk: A Submarine In Troubled Waters 2004
A remarkable documentary that delves deep into the mysterious and murky circumstances surrounding the Kursk submarine sinking.
Did they ever find the Red October?

Outlines the history of country music how it started on the 1920’s and became popular thanks to the early radio shows. Also follows all the way to current. Very well done worth watching IMO.
Best was how it got started & early stars. Really didn't know.

I started "The Most Dangerous Animal of All" last night.

It's a documentary about a guy who thinks his biological father was the Zodiac Killer, which is a case I've followed for over 20 years.

I've watched the first episode of 4 and I really liked it!

On prime video: (documovie)
American Animals (2018)
R | 1h 56min | Biography, Crime, Drama | 14 August 2018 (USA)
In this crime drama, four bright and well-off college students in Kentucky plot to steal some rare books from their university's (Transylvania) Special Collections Library in a misguided quest for personal glory. Based on the story, the film includes interviews with the foursome who attempted the bizarre heist.

A few more that I haven't seen mentioned yet

The Staircase

Paradise Lost (3 part doc from HBO)

Wild, Wild Country

Fyre

Abducted in Plain Sight

Blackfish

McMillions

The Confession Tapes

I agree on Wild, Wild Country and Adbucted in Plain Sight. The Tiger Woods documentary on HBO Max is good as well. I have been watching Tread on Netflix and it's been interesting so far.

Basball doc is really good but very long. What is the one about country music on?

It is about the history of country music from the early days until the mid to late 90's. If you like country and especially stuff like Hank Williams Sr, Hank Snow, Jimmie Rodgers, The Carter Family, Johnny Cash, etc then you should love it. I don't think you can watch anywhere except PBS or by purchasing the DVD's. Ebay is the best place to buy the DVD's.

Looks like all of the Country Music ones are on YouTube

Great idea.

I’d like to add there is an app called JustWatch and it can tell you where you can stream any television show or movie.

I use it all the time.

Several posters have mentioned Netflix. Another good one on there is Manhunt:Deadly Games. About 8 or 9 part series about Richard Jewel, Olympic bombing, Eric Rudolph.
Another one, and I think it is still on Netflix, is about the Unabomber. Can't remember the name of it but I think it is also Manhunt....but can't remember what's after that.
Both are very, very good.

I finished this one tonight. It's kind of up and down for me but overall I'd recommend it, especially if you're interested in the Zodiac case.

I've started watching "King's if Pain" on the History Channel.

It's a couple of guys getting bitten and stung by insects much like Coyote Peterson but they are also being bitten and stung by spiders, fish, snakes, etc.

They are ranking the pain for each critter on a scale from 1 - 30

If you are interested in Military Documentaries, specifically WWII, I strongly recommend the YouTube History Channel's

Battle 360 | CHRONOLOGICAL PLAYLIST | History

Some are short and others are Full episodes.
The one below is queued up to highlight a Kentucky native,
Rear Adm. Willis A. Lee, Commander of a battleship group including the USS Washington, BB-56.
When dispatched to the waters off Guadalcanal to defend Marines against Japanese naval forces, he sent a message to the rest of the US naval fleet:
"Stand aside, I am coming through"

It's already been mentioned, but Cocaine Cowboys on Prime and Pluto is great. Lots of memorable characters, but my favorite was Rivi Ayala, who was a cartel hitman. In his interview he came across as a guy you could be friends with. He is believed to have killed 36 people, but as he stated, it was nothing personal, just business.

I also recommend Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room, which is about the Enron scandal. It's on Prime as well.

Ken Burns's Hemingway 3 part series on PBS is excellent. It is being broadcast OTA in parts but is also available complete to binge on Prime with a 7 day trial to the PBS channel there.
