No chance. They could lose to Charlotte 100-0. It wouldn't get Stoops fired. UK owes him millions.

Nope - as pissed as I am right now at what I saw out of this staff today, I still think they deserve next year to prove they can get things right. If after 4 years it's just more of the same then the ball will be in the ADs court at that point.

Its a stupid question anyway, Charlotte is 2-8 with blowout losses to no-name teams. 5-7... however ******... is the minimum record for UK and anyone who wants to put money on it let me know.

He is not going anywhere for at least 2 years.

What we can hope for is the DC get replaced with a guy who has had head coaching experience before and be the actual coach and let stoops be the DB coach.

Everybody knows it takes 7 to 12 years to build an SEC program. I say we give him just two more years, and if he doesn't get it done, we give him two more. At that point, reevaluate and give him a 16 year extension.

No possible way. We need to take a step back and use our brains. Building a football program is not like building a basketball program. One good recruiting class can completely change a basketball program like we had Cal's first year. When you are left with NOTHING, like Stoops was, you have to allow 5 years before you start talking firing. You have to understand these schools we're playing have solid recruits 3 deep at every position and have those upperclassmen playing most positions. Even the schools with coaching changes still left solid classes for the incoming coach. Our seniors and some juniors are Joker recruits. We are not even solid two-deep with upperclassmen.

Yes, I think there are some coaching issues and decision-making problems. Yes, I don't understand why the last two years we aren't getting better as the year goes on. I also think the change in offensive coordinators is taking major adjustments and I'm not quite sold on Dawson, but Stoops is a relatively new head coach and Dawson is in his first year of full-time playcalling. There's always going to be a leaning curve.

I know we are all impatient and want to see results, but we have to give this thing time. Stoops has basically gotten us a beautiful new stadium we should be proud of, an incredible practice facility, and new energy into the fans. Have patience, and give the man 2 more years before hanging him.

Stoops goes 5-1 against a bunny schedule, lands a couple of 4-star players and Mitch goes completely nuts and gives the guy contract extension that he'll never live up to, and you can't get out of, amazing.

No, you don't understand, that's what good AD's do. [laughing]

He's been great for Kentucky. [laughing]

No seriously........."best AD we've ever had"

"Impatient" should NEVER be used when referring to a UK Football fan!!

Vandy does NOT have more talent than we do!!

Stoops MUST make the changes necessary or he is going to ruin his own reputation because of the level of ineptitude he and his staff have shown tonight!!

C'mon man!!:weary:

We don't have a new stadium, and Stoops had nothing to do with it. The first two paragraphs of your post read like they were written by Mrs. Stoops.

Other than that, great post.

Im not in favor of firing Stoops. There's no way to do that. He gets 2 more to see what we can do. It took Brooks way more than three, and that was without this contract. But as of right now, it's a bust hire, period. And Mitch Barhart needs to be on notice.

Who is going to fire him? Can you see Mitch sitting down and analyzing his in game coaching? The only thing that will get him fired is empty seats as we've seen before. And I'm talking tumbleweeds rolling though section 39

Not going to argue that Stoops needs to make change, but talent is overcome with scheme. We play our style whether it's to our strength or not and that makes us worse than we are. Vandy on the other hand has a solid defense and plays possession and field control on offense because it feeds to the strong defense.

Talent isn't everything in football.

It's all just regurgitated info. A few people keep saying the same crap like zombies and people just run with it.

Like the several dozen "Mitch built that" posters that just run around basically lying.

Some of you are football ignorant. You can bash my comments about how long it takes to build a program from scratch, but it's true. Even Derek Mason has James Franklin's recruits to work with, and they are upper-classmen now. We were getting beat 40-0 at home to Vandy in Joker's last year in front of a high school football-sized crowd.

You have the right to criticize Stoops and staff, but don't call for his head until year 5.

So you think Vandy..ULL..EKU..Mizzou..Otis are these teams you speak of...MS is in way over his head and UK's problem is we don't have enough $$$$$ people bail us out of it so we just have to ride it out and hope for the best

If we had any other AD 4-8 or 5-7 would get you canned in a heartbeat in year 3, but not with MBarn manning the helm. Stoops will be here for 3-4 more years at the very least. Stoops will find a way to win 5 or 6 games next year and all will be well in the eyes of Barnhart. 5 or 6 wins next year will buy Stoops another 3 or 4 years with Mitch B.
