Does anyone remember the 2010 game vs Purdue?

Playing them at night in Evanston brings back some nasty memories. I remember the Cats coming into that game 5-0 with an upstart offense led by Dan Persa and somehow losing an atrocious game against a team with a QB who was essentially the same player as Andrew Brewer.

One of the worst home games I have ever attended. A complete train wreck.

And old HS friend of mine scored the game winning touchdown for Purdue. I saw him after the game and told him to F off

I have bad memories too. Walking out of the stadium yet again with massive amounts of opponents fans grinning and whooping it up, then the fireworks going off. If the athletic department planned for fireworks to celebrate a 'Cats win at night, someone needed to make the decision NOT to shoot them off with the Cats loss. Ugh.

I remember walking out of the stadium, looked at my buddy who I was there with, and without even thinking about it just instinctively screamed "THEY ALMOST LOST TO WESTERN F*CKING ILLINOIS LAST WEEK" and made a bee line to the tailgate to drink my sorrows away

Wow this brings up some bad memories

No. No memory of that game. None. Zero. Nada. It never happened. And don’t try to convince me otherwise.

What the heck you guys? Why drag up a stinker from 70+ games ago? Why relive the trauma? Do you enjoy PTSD? Are you afraid of nice things? Are you Northwestern fans or something?

While we're at it, what about the game where Brees beat us with like a 99.9 yard pass?

Or the one following a huge win (maybe 54-51 Mich?) Where played Purdue, and the entire team played like they were wearing hip boots.

I was there for that one, at Purdue. To Vinnie Sutherland. Still hurts to think about it. o_O

I was, too. I also choose to have no recollection of those events and therefore they did not happen. If Hungry Jack can be right all of the time, then I can re-write history.

Looking back at that game (and the entire 2010 season) it just goes to show how bad that team was around Persa.

I seriously think if you replaced Persa with any QB we have had since we were looking at a 3-9 season.

I don't get to many games, but that was one that I was able to attend. If I recall we marched up and down the field all night long, but couldn't score. It was disappointing to completely out play a team and lose!!

Drew Brees was an absolute joy to watch in college. Unless you wanted your team to win.

Better question. Does anyone want to remember that game?

2010 was payback for the 2009 game that Northwestern stole from us.

Jumped out to a 21-3 in the first quarter and then turned the ball over 6 times (5 fumbles) in the last 3 quarters to lose 27-21. Even at that, we had the ball down to the Northwestern 5 yard line on our last drive and Joey Elliott missed an open wide receiver in the back of the end zone on 4th down with 3 seconds left that would have won it for us. Most inexplicable loss I can remember as a Purdue fan.

Yeah, that was a weird game. Not sure we stole it. It was handed to us.

I passed up the Hawks' banner raising ceremony to attend that stinker. It was like the 'Cats refused to win.
