Yay or nay?

I say yay.

Bowl eligibility is definitely within reach, something that seemed impossible at halftime of the New Mexico State.

Kentucky cannot reach that goal playing so one dimensional on offense.

Would be surprised if the coaches don't start giving Hoak a lot of reps during the bye week.

There should be an option for the coaches in the next game.Johnson should start but if he struggles as he did yesterday then there should be someone the coaches are willing to go to in a non emergency (injury) situation. If Barker is ready play him if he is not then decide who that person is going to be and be ready for him to play.

Gunnar Hoak was a fringe top 50 prospect in Ohio. If you think Hoak can turn this season around, you are dreaming. Some of you have given up on the coach and just can't let the guy do his job.

Taking the Redshirt off of Hoak should be the very last option. If Barker cant play this week and Johnson is still struggling you stick with him. You dont waste a yr of eligibility for a game or two.

Yeah, I was thinking about this earlier. One would think if Barker's not coming back they'd have to pull Hoak;'s RS pretty soon. I don't think Johnson was recruited to be a starter but an emergency back up plan. Well, they're there.

I don't think throwing a true freshman QB to the fire is the answer. If SJ gets hurt it becomes a possibility, but I don't see it happening under any other circumstance.

It don't think you have to start him but he needs some game reps. He might give us the lift we need on offense. a change of pace will keep the defenses honest.

I don't think we can won but 1 more game with the offense we has to rin yesterday. SEC defense's will load up the box if you can't at least throw some descent passes. Maybe Barker can get healthy over the off week.

To many on this board, the guy who hasn't played is always than the guy who had.

What about Davis Mattingly? Wasn't everyone speaking glowingly of him after spring game? Still don't need to pull the gun from Johnson, yet. As far as Hoak is concerned, now isn't the time to worry about saving his redshirt. Probably, will be recruited over, anyway.

no

as funny as it may seem, this offense has found an identity with SJ. Run heavy with a solid backfield and mobile QB.

It hasn't been real pretty but SJ 3-1 as a starter and the 1 loss was to Bama.

SJ is still very raw, but learning every game. The team seems to click with him being what he is.

If we have 15 passes a game with 7-9 completions, so be it as long as the run game is productive and SJ can move the chains between the 20s and occasionally score in the redzone with his legs, great.

We are on the razors edge with games we have a chnce to win. Gunnar may be great one day but a freshman QB, in the SEC, will be sudden death as I see it.
