If it is Gonzaga as our 2 and ND as our 3, watch for someone like Oklahoma as our 4 and WST as our 5. And then OSU and NC State as our 8/9 game.Originally posted by KYCAT78:
ND will be in our division as a 2,3, or 4. Makes perfect sense because Va. will be with Villanova. Wisky and Arizona in West and Duke and Kansas in South. Gonzaga will probably be our 2 and ND as our 3. This would set the brackets with the top 2 seeds not having a rematch from regular season.

Actually all the soothsayers are predicting KU or Gonzaga for UK. The reason things have changed is because now instead of two Midwest teams competing for Cleveland in Wisconsin and KU, you have a Midwest in KU and an East in UVA. Now you are technically right...by the rule of the mileage, UVA should go to Cleveland, but it is 50 miles difference...and UVA fans are going to be pissed enough if they do not get a 1 (same with Duke fans if it is them), so if the committee puts them in UK's bracket on top of that viewed screw job (in UVA or Duke fans' minds) I believe all hell would break loose.Originally posted by J. This is funny. All the soothsayers predicting the worst for us. But it will probably happen. Oh well. Bring it. Now our 2 seed is Virginia instead of Wisconsin....a team that was in the top 4 most of the year. The only constant in this whole discussion has been that Duke will be a 1 seed no matter what, and Gonzaga will be their 2 seed. On to the current. I hope we lay waste to the razorbacks.
Since the beginning of the year it is night and day. Remember what you normally watch!!Originally posted by bevcat:
ND looked good offensively, but defensively I wasn't as impressed.
And I suspect that he's right, though I can see that being flipped. If you rank the teams 1-9, it makes perfect sense. Notre Dame and Kansas are 8-9, so with an S Curve, or just geography, it makes sense to have those 2 in UK's region.Originally posted by tmuck:
Lunardi has them as our 3 and KU as the 2 in his latest bracketology.
No, because most of the mid-majors will be in Dukes. I'll be here tomorrow to eat crow if I'm wrong. I stand by my predictions...I've seen bracketologists predict similar brackets for UK all this season.Originally posted by kyjeff1:
my God, some of you are just miserable people. I mean UKwildcats#8 painted himself a nice doom and gloom bracket and got mad at the committee because they somehow put it in his mind. Come on people, stop freaking out. I swear, the committee could put all mid majors in our bracket and some of our fans would still cry foul.
I would be HIGHLY shocked if ND is anything other than a 3 seed. One can make the argument they are the top 3 seed, although I have to think that honor goes to ISU with their overall resume of quality wins.Originally posted by redbudman:
Yes we will paly them in Sweet 16 our 3rd game!
You take away the 3's and they are not that impressive though. I think trying to beat UK in a track meet is cute and I find it hilarious teams try it. I hope Arkansas keeps it somewhat closer today so teams think it can work.Originally posted by Bigbluetrue:
Notre Dame will definitely be in our region. They spread the floor and shoot the 3 very well. They definitely will be a tough match up if we end up playing them.
I would assume so. If ND is not in the Midwest then there's a good chance Iowa St is if KU is not our 2 seed. I would ratherOriginally posted by Smashcat:
South Bend to Cleveland is a short trip.
Why? They are about as good on D as Auburn, a little better, with no front court to speak of. They are a really water downed version of Duke, minus Okafor.Originally posted by Big Foot 275:
I hope not. I just posted in another thread that is the kind of team I am most concerned with.

Yeah, but all those teams you listed are flawed. The first two play no defense...so colore me unimpressed ND got good looks against either, and what happened when Duke trucked them by 30 in Durham? I'll also add the obvious that UL has no offense, yet hung with ND for most of the game and led a good chunk of it.Originally posted by Big Foot 275:

They can beat Duke because Duke relies on shooting a ton of 3's. Duke does not know what to do when teams over guard them and they have to constantly go inside.
They beat Duke twice, Carolina twice and Louisville at Yum.
The three point shot is a great equalizer against any team even great ones.
I know our three point defense is really good but I don't think the Cats have faced a team that shoots it that well from 3.
