If Harris does the expected and commits to Bama Friday does UK continue to recruit him? It's still 3+ weeks to NSD. I say yes.

I would say no. IMO they tell him, you know how to get in touch with us if you want to change your mind.

I would and if he winds up at Bama tell him he's welcome to transfer back if he misses Kentucky after a year.

That said, fingers still crossed he picks UK tomorrow.

The issue with that is Bama won't, or hasn't in the past, release him to sign with another SEC school, so he would have to go to a JUCO or sit 2 years at UK. Another rule that needs fixing, coach can walk off to any school with no penalties.

Why wouldn't they continue to recruit him unless he tells them it is absolutely over and there is no chance he will change his mind? If he were to flip after the announcement regardless of who he choses it wouldn't surprise me. This is a teenager and if Mama prefers UK she will have a big influence on his final choice. I would take the stance that it isn't over until the ink dries on his LOI. There is a lot of recruits that are flirting with going out of state that come home at the last minute.

This recruit is a lot more important to UK than he is to Bama. I say don't give up until the fat lady sings.

So Bama takes SEC transfers but doesn't return the favor?

I wouldn't completely cut off all ties, but I wouldn't continue with the same resources. I would re-allocate resources to other possible "gets".

UK may lose tomorrow but those of you saying that we have no chance and should give up must not be familiar with Stoops and Marrow and their philosophies.

This makes sense. We have invested a lot of time and money in his recruitment - time and money that could have been used for other players. If we really want to get another RB we are way behind for almost everyone. Might not be a bad move to use the scholarship for another position of need (and we still have quite a few needs).

If a coach releases a kid to sign anywhere he wants Bama will take him, provided he is a real player. But if you are talking about the kid who enrolled this week from UGA, he was dismissed and went to JUCO for a year and can go anywhere he wants. Alvin Kamara signed with Bama, a bigtime back from Georgia, stayed for year, didn't like it, Bama wouldn't release him, so he went to JUCO for a year and is at UT now.

Bama has used the same principle for decades, sign all the players you want, if they don't work out and get buried on the depth chart, "hint" they transfer down. If kid still can, he will go JUCO and play, then transfer where he wants after 1 season at JUCO. The more good players they sign the less they have to play against, because unless they go JUCO, they won't ever have to face them.

Kamara is good enough to push Hurd for the starting job at UT this year, was player of the year in Georgia's largest classification as a sr.

This ^ Terrence Jones almost did this in basketball remember? Every knew for sure he was a lock for UK then switched to Washington... Ended up coming back to us anyway, but you never know. Being this close to home is definitely a major factor for any 18 year old, athlete or otherwise.

This ducks if we can't land Harris. Seems bound to go else where but we need to try to get a big time recurve . We want to rub this up tempo offense with lots of passing are we in on any receivers other than Richardson?

Bill Murray in "Stripes" : [paraphrsed] Party?! Whose idea was this? Party?

On the eve of the #1 RB in the country and from Kentucky deciding between playing college football at Bama or UK , We ponder if UK can flip a Pitt recruit. At this time of the year, it is a party. (sorry for "on the eve" reference).

Well, I see no reason to not continue to recruit him just because you already have his commitment, Bama could still steal him away.

Interesting that Kamara ended up at TU, thanks Grumpy, he was one of the FOUR four star RBs in Bama's 13 class, all 6.0s per Rivals, something had to give with Yeldon already there. Henry is probably #1 next year, isn't he the one over 240#, and Tenpenny maybe second with Jones now a redshirt soph next year so a class behind.

But then you have a five star in Scarborough at 6' 2" 242# with a 4.5 forty with a spring practice up on Damien, with another four star RB enrolling early also.

I think they have a total of SIX five stars committed so far, but they really need Harris, right Bama fans, lot of weeping if he should choose UK.

Oh well, they will probably get a couple of five star RBs to make up for it next year, maybe another monster like LSU's five star freshman this year, so I won't feel too bad for them, before Stoops I think we had ONE 5.6 RB commit this century, Little.
