Yes. I married a UL fan.

She can't name one player that has ever played for UL. But boy, she runs her mouth on game day.
Sounds like my house. however she did go to the Alabama football game with me, wearing UK, and the final 4

Are we all just going to ignore the fact that Spear got married the day of the South Carolina game last year?

ESPECIALLY in a thread that started because of someone having to go to a wedding during football season.

I'm just gonna have to be super thankful for ukbasketballlive.com, so if we beat Florida, I can watch it when we get home.

No, but I'm not an *** about it either. Home football games and at least one football road trip are no questions asked. College football Saturday's are basically mine while I've almost completely given up the NFL/Sunday's. Regular season basketball games can be DVR'd and watched later that night if there's something she really wants to do.

My wife used to think that when I holed up to watch a game, that she could just send the kids in with me while she went off galavanting about the mall.

There was wailing and gnashing of teeth over that, from all parties.

The wife loathes football in general. So, she's pissy when we plan around UK games in the fall. Bball she's all in on planning around stuff.

It's just a game, fellas. UK sports ain't gonna be coming to your funeral.

I'd pick my wife and little girls over any sports team every time. Even if it was just to go for a day hike. But I guess I'm one of those weird guys that cares about his family and makes them a priority.

Any man that would trade freedom for security, deserves neither freedom nor security. There are plenty cooking forums. Go to one and leave us be.

We had our daughter the day before the UK-South Carolina game last year...my wife, knowing my fandom, encouraged me to go saying, "I've got family and nurses here to help me out, go."

My wife knows every guy has vices. On the rare occasion when she says " Isn't there anything on tv other than sports (Football and baseball mainly)? I simply ask her "Would you rather me have the vice of 1. Drinking at the bar with the guys? 2. Chasing other women? 3 Gambling our money away? 4. Wasting money on crap like cars, golf, clothes, etc...???

She just smiles and tells me I can watch as much Football and baseball as I want....drink as much expensive coffee as I want....attend overpriced sports events, etc..... It's all a matter of helping them have a proper perspective.

I have used the same lines myself.

Nope, my wife understands that my fandom is a part of who I am. I've voluntarily missed a couple games to do things with her, but it was all on my end. I'm lucky to that for the most part she's a fan as well, obviously not as big as I, but she enjoys watching the Cats play.

Not an issue. The girlfriend loves it as much as I do. We're already using the Florida game as an excuse to just stop by and then leave a lame surprise birthday party her best friend is throwing for the guy she's trying to marry.

Party starts at 7, set the DVR, stop by, have a drink, leave in 20 minutes, come home, watch the first quarter with no commercials and catch up live by halftime.

^ how hard is it to figure out if you are going to bday parties, showers, attending weddings, HAVING a wedding on game day you are a terrible friend. You're encouraging that dumb ****.

The dude that went to the USC game the day after his child was born wins this thread. His wife is the real deal.

He wins. You clowns lose.

I would rather do just about anything than watch Big 10 sports. So you lose the thread again

Oh yeah... I donated a retina in a Motel 6 bathroom surgery in Haiti so I could buy a reproduction of Bartman's autograph on the same day that my daughter was delivered 3 months prematurely in a taxi cab because I lost our car in a poker bet.

Tarantino movie right there.

Not enough, eh? I parachuted out of a Concorde jet using nothing but a bass fishing seat cushion just so I could see the last 10 minutes of a cardboard tube dueling reenactment of the Gold Medal bout of the 2010 NCAA men's epee final at Harvard University.
