Took my dog on a two mile walk this morning. Most days it's closer to 1 mile. Felt good to stretch it out. I like to walk her early before anyone else is out and before it gets too hot.

Any other dog walkers out there? Anyone do it for a living? Thinking about starting a dog walking business on the side and hiring some cheap labor to do the leg work. I could probably make a buck or two. Anyone want to come work for Kaizer's Mutt Walking Service?

I go for a walk with Norman every morning. It's usually only a half mile or so. We go longer on weekends. Rain or shine or snow, we go. In the summer though, he doesn't like going at night. He gets skiddish due to kids shoot fireworks.

My dog gets skiddish when fireworks go off too. And I live in the sticks so you can hear people target shooting in the evenings some times. Mornings work best for us as well.

Wilfred was rescued from a puppy mill. He's about 5 1/2 years old. He loves walks and even though he's neutered, he hikes his leg about once every 50 yards. He ends up dry marking at the end.

There are few better feelings than getting your dog back home from a long walk, having the doggo hit the floor, and then the next few hours having a super happy, relaxed dog that's extra sweet.

Funny thing is that it works for kids too. Keep them busy and have them exercise often. Dogs and/or kids will be happier, healthier, and sleep better.

We ditched the carpet throughout most of our house last year and our beagle loves to lay down on his side on the much cooler floor now. I will even turn on a box fan toward him and he just lies there like he is in heaven after the walk in the heat.
