Did he play hs football? Reportedly he is by far the best athlete on the bb team...freakish verticle, speed, everything. What do you guys think about him coming back for his 5th yr(he can do that, right?) and try to play football ? He is a freekish athlete and might make an awesome safety if he can catch on fast enough...who knows, maybe that is his ticket...thoughts?

George Fant did it at WKU. Was to undersized to play power forward and played tight end last season at WKU. He only caught one pass all season. He continued to gain weight and now is with Seattle Seahawks as a tackle. So it can be done. His last measurements were 6'5 300lbs, 37in vertical and 4.8 40 time. Skill positions are probably tougher to get attention.
If he is up to it seems like it would be a good fit.... don't think he is going to be playing pro basketball unless it's somewhere overseas, but then maybe he just wants to graduate and get on with his life

I don't think he was rated that high. If he was he made a bad career choice.
He was well thought of as a qb. This article will back that up.

Hawkins was one heck of a WR at Madison Central. He could go up and get the ball as good as any WR I've seen play in High School. He could have been a great FB player if he had concentrated on doing so. I would definitely think he could play for UK if he was interested and Coach Stoops wanted him next season.
